Hi Richard! This is SO good. All your videos are great, all the time. Thank you 😊 for all that repetitive information. I need it so much!Then, after a while, it’s so integrated inside that it goes naturally out of my mind ... then to the camera 📷 or computer 💻 ... well, that’s the goal. 😂 No problem, I’ll listen many other times. For the moment, with nasty weather that gives cloudy skies, snow and rain over here, it’s more difficult to hang around outside for hours! 😘😍😘

Totally agree with the comment below. The repetition is excellent, and it is certainly my favoured way of learning. I have to say that, even though I have watched every one of your videos (and a lot more than once!!), I have never yet felt any of them to be repetitive. I always pick up something I missed the first (and second) time. Plus, the subjects you choose are always interesting, and what you achieve with your lighting and editing techniques is always so impressive. So, I am absolutely not bored.....quite the opposite in fact. People new to photography would benefit massively from watching your videos, even if they had absolutely no interest in nightscaping, because the principles of photography are always explained in your natural and enthusiastic manner. Thanks again for a great video. I am really enjoying bringing your learning and techniques to bear, here in the UK.

@@nightscapeimages.richard Just finished. It was amazing and informative as always. Practice makes perfect. Editing is the most boring part of photography, but it is also essential in order to enhance our creativity. Looking forward to next Sunday and new video from you. Cheers!

I don't mind the repetition. Heck I need it. Looks like you had an assistant panning at the beginning. I enjoy not only the tutorials but also watching how you guys live down under, the stops for coffee and the great people you meet. Guessing the brush guards on the front of the vehicles are for Roos. The deer and now bears in Florida will may require one.

Thanks heaps for your continued support Bruce. No I don't have an assistant .. I'm doing it all myself out in the field. I'm using a few different pieces of equipment to do the following. I'll do a video on some of that later on. Yes the "Bull Bar" is definitely for kangaroos.

Repeating is the core of learning ... a method of teaching seemingly forgotten in these days. I am sure your creativity will find other themes and topics in the future, not stopping you from repeating then ... thx

Another very watchable and informative video Richard with a customary great result! I have access to a similar, if smaller, piece of old farm equipment which would look rather good with some star trails behind it... :] Geoff Sharp makes a really good suggestion in the comments below regarding a more detailed look at your light painting technique. I appreciate that this is tricky to video, but a greater insight into choosing where to light your subject, from how far away, with how much zoom, for how long and which power mode to select would be very interesting. Thanks again Richard for all the hard work that must go into this wonderful channel 👍.

Thanks Richard for the tutorial, it is much appreciated. I wonder if you would in a future tutorial, show the action of the actual light painting of the foreground subject in the field. This is probably the only component that you have not revealed. I appreciate that it may be easy but it would be helpful to see your torch action and some hints as to how you go about the fine art lighting. Thanks for the videos. 👍👌

Thanks heaps Geoff. It's always hard to film the light painting in real time simply because of the low light levels etc but I'll give it a go. I have included segments in past videos where I've talked through the process whilst doing it but I've had to lower the video frame rate to capture it so it looks a bit jittery. See this one: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/q7B_nt1k0dKpo4U.html

@@nightscapeimages.richard Thanks Richard. I checked that video out and it was helpful to see the technique in action. I recall now that I had previously watched that video. I do a bit of light painting for creative/artistic images with a few mates and we generally capture the scene in ONE exposure, sometimes up to 240 seconds but usually shorter. I will be trying the Tatti technique soon for my nightscape images and see if I can get a result like yours if at all possible. Your nightscape work is inspirational and I appreciate you for sharing the knowledge so willingly.

You upgraded to a D850 from what body, Alan? I understand that has a backlit sensor for increased night shot clarity, yet some claim the D750 is actually a better astro camera and I wonder why?

@@Warrior_Resisting_Colonialism The D850 is a fantastic astro camera, in fact it's a stella camera for anything ..!!!
@alanscott7591
@alanscott7591 4 жыл бұрын
@@Warrior_Resisting_Colonialism I used to have a D750 and I combined that with a Tamron 15-30 and was very happy with the astro shots I captured. I mainly do macro photography of waterdrops so the larger pixel count of the D850 allowed me to crop in to the subject without losing pixels whereas to get a similar pixel count with the D750 I had to pre frame the photo to avoid cropping. With water splashes its a bit hard to predetermine the crop needed. The D850 has got some other nice features like intervalometer and focus stacking.
