MILKY WAY time-lapse and astrophotography at ASTROFARM TIVOLI, Namibia - June 2023

In June 2023, I paid a visit to ASTROFARM TIVOLI in Namibia to enjoy the amazing dark sky (Bortle 1) at 23 degrees southern lattitude. For 10 clear nights I could witness the amazing Milky Way in astronomical opposition and shine all night. What a treat for the eye it was! Armoured with several Canon camera's en a variety of Sigma lenses (and one Olympus fisheye), I shot about 14.000 photo's of our own glittering home galaxy. which month have you booked? I'm planning for August. I've been there three times, the first one when I was only 25. For an astroamateur, to go there is an experience that rewrites from scratch almost everything you think you know!

Wonderful! Do you think it's dangerous to rent a car alone and go from the capital to Tivoli? I will go soon .

No, it is not dangerous. You must know the route of course. The route is on the web site of Tivoli. You can use navigation in the rental car if you have that included. There are not many signs across the roads. Drive in daylight; you can see rhe signs much better. Good luck and have fun at Tivoli. A wonderful place!

Thanks a lot for information. I will rent a suv I think is better than take passage .In this way i can stop also 2 nights in Kiripoti astro farm just 24 km from Tivoli just to change there is swimming pool!
