HAVE YOU EVER WONDERED HOW DR. FACILIER BECAME A VILLAIN?
We all know Dr. Facilier as the Voodoo Shadow Man with crooked deals from The Princess and the Frog. He was a deceptive man with a plan to take over New Orleans, but how did he gain his power and what drove him to become a villain?
As a female music artist I always want to vocally challenge myself for my songs so that the stories I tell are conveyed in the best way possible. This song has been one of my most challenging yet but I’m proud of what I managed to achieve with my female vocal range. I put a lot of effort into the way I sing these songs and I hope you all enjoy these stories and my music more because of this!

True, but honestly I feel like Doctor facility has been keeping his emotions in for a very long time, and that at a certain point he just snapped, And it wasn't really out of true evilness towards his parents, He was just mad that they weren't proud of him, Hence why he ran away at the end, not because he was happy with what he did, and he wanted to leave them like that, but because he just didn't know what to do so he decided to run kind of like simba in the Lion, Only difference it is facility's technical fault..

I love how the main message from the original movie can also apply here to this video. Dr. Facilier got what he WANTED. (Revenge and to be a Magic Man.) But he lost what he HAD/NEEDED. (His parents' love and his morals.) BTW I like to think Mama Odie doesn't know her husband's a snake and still believes he's a human, since, y'know... She's blind. Very good video!

I’ve working on a redemption story for Dr Facilier where while he’s in the afterlife part of his punishment is that he has to see the decisions that got him to where was when we meet him in the movie and it’s revealed at first he was trying to help people but people were always taking advantage of him and one day he snapped. And it turns out he wasn’t lying when he was admiring Tiana and devotion to her work, in all honesty it reminded him of himself when he was about her age. As he’s watching he gets a small “my goodness what have I done,” moment and decides to take his punishment. That is until a certain skeleton king comes and asks the person in charge of the after life who they think deserves a chance at redemption and they introduce him to Dr Faciler. Jack offers Dr Faciler a job as the new boogie man which Dr Faciler takes as well as taking the trick or treater kids in becoming a way better father figure for them than Oogie ever was. What do you think?

Nice. Can you do Pitch Black pls? Plus it makes sense that Mama Oddie was the way that the Shadow Man gained his magic and being in Tiana’s shoes made sense that he wanted to make a name for himself like Tiana but no one ever gave him the chance. Eventually when he made his deal with the demons, he lost his family and their respect since they wanted him to be an honest man.

This right here it's good proof every villain started out good but, it's life and the hurdles life puts them through and how they deal with them that define who they become. Sadly Faciler chose the path of vengeance and power and became corrupted beyond reversal trapped by ego and greed betrayed his own parents. Good jpb on the singing and video 😊

Heartbreaking and beautifully performed! This makes so much sad sense. I love that you used the early concept of who his mother is. That is still my headcanon even though the movie didn't use it. Him causing her blindness as they argue and she rejects what he's become is horrible and heartbreaking and I could see it happening.

Beautiful song, although unlike that of Gothel, Ursula and Maleficent it didn't arouse real empathy in me for Facilier, as its tragedy is much less than the other three and his parents had legitimate reasons to be angry with him. But this makes perfect sense, if you're familiar with the Evil Pure Wiki.

They already have with "Maleficent" and "Cruella". I've always said that a live action Dr. Facilier movie exploring his backstory would be amazing. He's one of the most mysterious Disney Villains of all time. Who is he? Where did he come from? How did he come to practice magic? What deal did he make to his friends on the other side? What pushed him to make said deal? It would be amazing to see this concept brought to the big screen!

Well they already have 2 movies that explains the backstory of the villains. The Sleeping Beauty villain’s backstory is confirmed to be that she had her wings cut off by the king (Aurora’s dad), causing her to seek revenge on him for what he did to her! The 101 Dalmatian villain had her boyfriend killed by the same dog!

Hahaha I love this comment! I really like the idea of Dr Facilier being Husk not only because they are voiced by the same actor but I also think they are quite similar. It’s interesting that Husk is associated with cards and is a gambler who took a risk and sold his soul to keep his power because it’s very similar to Dr Facilier’s association with tarot cards and how he made his own deal to gain power by also selling his soul. If Dr Facilier were to become an Overlord in the Hellaverse I could definitely see him being the type that Husk was ♠️♥️♣️♦️😈

If he were to had realized that, he could’ve helped her get over her fears of frogs. He could say that the frog plush isn’t a real frog, and that could help her to get over her fear of frogs a little. Or maybe try a different magic trick that doesn’t involve frogs, like a stuffed bunny instead. That could can their whole introduction in the first place.

I really love this, it looks amazing, when I saw the title almost there, I was a little confused, but watching the video, I really love it, you put a lot of work in detail, and when I read that it was you who was doing this vocalized my mind was blown girl. Come, you can sing, not just as a girl. , but even as a male, you did some great. A work here, like it's honestly amazing, How you captured, a young black boy, getting even with white kids, we're always bullied in, like basically him retaliating against white people, And I love when people make these villain origin stories, we're the villain, comma does have somewhat of a tragic back story, but you still maintain their evil side, I actually love it, you did a great work here. You know that starting scene showing doctor Facilier and the paper boy this just makes it a little bit worse since he got pocket change while this kid got big bills from Big Daddy makes that scene and this one hit harder cause I remember his shadow dropping the coin he got from the guy he used Voodoo on being like heh nice job. Makes me wonder (now that I consider this cannon) if he looked back and got more hatred for the rich cause he was the poor boy trying to scrape by but he got the scraps while they got the full meals, so he turned to the Loa (his friends on the other side) to give him the power to make those who laughed and pointed fingers at him pay more than money but their souls and once Mama Odie and Juju found out he’s used the Loa chest they were disappointed in him but Facilier took it as a betrayal and used his magic on them blinding Mama Odie and turning Juju into a snake. Still wonder how he got the snake fangs though cause it shows him leaving the Bayou so he couldn’t to have gotten them from Juju plus Juju looks more like a Kha from the jungle book or Sir Hiss from Robin Hood or I could be just mixing snakes up and he might’ve defanged Juju at some point or he could’ve gotten them from a different snake in the bayou
