Mili Ghosh, a mass communicationsmajor in college, started off as an editor and as a production coordinator working for small studios and non for profit organizations. There, she gained insight into the world of productions. After taking up several freelancing gigs she began her journey with her husband Sid to express their ideas, thoughts, and inspirations creatively through the medium of film and stills.
About TEDx, x = independently organized event
In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized.* (*Subject to certain rules and regulations)

You don't have to stick to either being a jack of all trades or becoming an expert in only one area. You can commit to multiple areas and become an expert in multiple areas. The point is to never stop learning from multiple sources because the time most people have on earth will likely exceed the amount of time needed to become competent in one area and the extra time you spend in that area often doesn't produce much growth so you might as well take on an additional area of learning instead of being stuck in complacency for decades after that. It's ok to explore and discover in the process while you decide on new areas to tackle and learn. But that doesn't mean you are equally incompetent in all your areas because all you did was explore instead of commit. Being equally incompetent in all areas of study does not make you a polymath, it just makes you incompetent. The way she presents it makes us polymaths sound flaky and incompetent.

@jinnie1108 "You don't have to stick to either being a jack of all trades or becoming an expert in only one area. You can commit to multiple areas and become an expert in multiple areas. " - Very well said. We have lowered the bar for polymathy, and we made the term useless. What we should do instead is keep the bar high and put in the hard work it takes to reach it. It's still possible to find true polymaths today and it's still possible to become one. ❤
