Pat was THE QUEEN of rock from the mid-70s through the 80s. There were very few that could come close to her powerhouse vocals. She churned out hit after hit. Hoping Shadows of the Night is on your list to react to. She just utterly slays it on that one, as well as on You Better Run. Enjoy the rock and roll journey, guys!

A lot of us were misunderstood and exiled by our parents. In my case, it was my dad as my mpm watched me go and cried. At 14, it was a huge scary world and, as Paul Simon would write in THE BOXER, we always "sought the poorer quarters, where the ragged people go.". Everything in life was a struggle, but finding love to fill that giant void was truly a battlefield of traps, scams and rapists. A dangerois place for a teenager, male or female.

This song and video had an impact on me growing up. I wanted to run away from home as a 15yo and nearly did after I saw Pat's 'Love Is A Battlefield' escapade. Fortunately I changed my mind on the night - I thought of my little sister who I was about to leave behind. It's a little cheesy but I still tear up watching her younger brother lean back on his bed after reading the letter in a what-could-have-been moment for me. So yeah, this video is deeply emotional. Thanks for reacting to it.

This was intended as a slow ballad written by Holly Knight and Mike Chapman, Spider and Patricia rocked it up and made it edgy and darker thematically.

if you look at this, this came after tina turner, private dancer, it was the same sort of thing in the 80's, not promoting lap dancers, or that sort of thing, but private clubs to dance with the girls, tina turner did a great one as well, on this subject RIP tina, im 60 years old, this was my teen era

what you have to remember, when these songs came out, there was no internet, no mobile phones, we only had 4 or maybe 5 channels on the TV, the MTV came along along to watch in the pubs, it was not till the 90's that we started to get satalite Tv with more channels, in the home, and we had video recorders in the 80s, and cd's came out in the 90's, we still did not have internet, that came around 1999, bit earlier if you had the money, it was more pirate CD's in the 90's look at michael jackson thriller, 1982 to 1983, when you could get hold of the video lol, or pirate copy, even back then, best we had was house phone, but not cheap to use

The lyrics are surely about a romantic relationship, but the video was telling a different story. Not the only time a video did a different take on the song, like Metallica's cover of "Turn the Page".

Love Pat Benatar, love the song, but I almost always hate the hokey music videos. They tend to be over-produced and over-acted videos with the studio track layered over the top. Live performances and studio cuts are my favorite ways to take in music... you even said you were caught up in the story of the video and I find when people are caught up in these vids, the music and the talent gets lost or at least becomes secondary. There are a few exceptions (Kate Bush for instance), but to me those are few and far between. I do like your reactions and I liked this one too, so thanks for getting some Pat Benatar out there today!

Pat and Kate Bush are my 2 favorite singers ever and i agree with you. Some of Pat's videos are great though. Like All Fired Up but that's her and the band in there natural setting live on stage mostly. Pat is still an amazing singer today but even she wasn't that crazy about some of her videos. I actually love some of them like Somebody's Baby. That video actually gets the message across perfectly. Check it out its a sad one but incredible. Now Kate Kate on the other hand her music is made for video totally. I got to see her live in 2014. It was otherworldly amazing.
