@@beeticket Memes maybe. Not the truth. We were allowed a lot of freedom but our parents always (mostly) knew where we were. In our teens if we got in trouble with the Police, we were shitting ourselves about what our Dad's punishment would be after the Police station.

I was born in 85. Dad was 1950 mom was 1960. I got the "you're an idiot do better moron" parenting treatment. Now my parents wonder why I never tried to apply myself and have struggled financially my entire adult life. I don't blame them for my choices, only that their parenting failure informed how I made choices. I was raised more like a genX than anything else.

What I really love is how I have like no filter. I'll call you out for being stupid or whatever. Then my parents will get upset with me. I am now realizing that it's because I act like they did in private, in public. They would shit talk me and my siblings at home and put on a mask for the pubic. "Why are you such an asshole?" "You" LOL. They don't like what they see in the mirror I present.

These are great. 😄 As an old school Gen X Mom, my '97 & '00 kids got a very unique upbringing w/input from the Greatest Gen & Baby Boomers while limiting the social trends of the time. Able to hold convos w/adults since they could talk, spent half the day outside, recite cartoon monologues, prefer quiet reflection to social media, & work w/their hands & to pay their rent. ❤ Are there anymore of you out there..?
