Natural conversation between a 13 year old actress and a 29 year old actress. This truly goes to show you the raw natural talent these two each possess, that's not simple chemistry to have for a one on one interview for actors.

The conversation was completely lopsided. Millie sounded so childish next to Evan. Which is okay... because she's a child. But pretending that it was a level conversation from peer to peer, with the same amount of depth and wisdom... forget it! Evan is miles ahead from Millie.

Agreed. From her performances in 13teen and King of California to Across the universe she has proven to be an extremely talented actress but somehow she's not getting her accolades. It happens to a lot of great actresses that choose more of an indie movie route with their careers, like Chloe Sevigny or Kirsten Dunst.

So good! I love that the age gap doesn't even matter; Evan treats Millie respectfully and warmly, as a peer, and Millie is mature and humble, and they just have a natural, thoughtful conversation.
@Arvaniz3 жыл бұрын
I agree that Evan was respectful and treated Millie as a peer... but the girl wasn't mature at all (which she needn't be, because she's a child... but let's not pretend she was). Many of Evan's comments flew past her head.

i love Evan Rachel Wood's performance in Westworld, such a character with depth and philosophical transformation which blew me away during the last episodes. i wish she would be talking to someone whom could relate to something more than being having a newbie experiences. btw i really like millie in stranger things as well.
@lucas.daniel6 жыл бұрын
I was just thinking that. As much as I loved this pairing, I wanted someone that could pick apart Evan Rachel Wood's brain a little bit. Nothing against Millie, but I just wanted someone talking to her that had the tenacity to grasp the broader scope of Wood's work, especially from her character in Westworld. I think Anna Torv and Evan Rachel Wood would have been a great pair.

I like that they addressed how Millie likely hasn’t seen much (if any) of Evan’s work because of her age. I hope in years to come Millie will experience Evan’s work and cherish this interview & how gracious Evan was with her :)

Juce it’s so frustrating, cos look at Millie. This young prodigy is getting everything she deserves and there’s so many others to be discovered
@katkatkatkat4634 жыл бұрын
Juce maybe because most teenagers are not emotionally prepared for this level of public exposure - they may be age appropriate for the role but not for the fame. It is not a problem with acting but with public reacting
@Abstract8524 жыл бұрын
"This is why it bothers me so much that they cast people over 20 to play teenage roles." part of that may relate to child employment laws....really slows down (and increases cost of) shooting if can only legally work X amount of hours a day.

ERW is an amazing actress that doesn't ever seem to mail it in. Maybe because she is more picky with her film and TV choices. She should win a best actress on the Emmys for Westworld but we know how biased they still are towards sci-fi. (ie..Fringe) when it comes to any of the major awards.
@Abstract8524 жыл бұрын
Despite the fan base Fringe is not that great. The acting is barely a step above day time soap, serious scenes but acted in the campiest ways possible. WW season 1 (and 3 so far....2 was meh) is acted in a way that's far more adult.

Millie is cute and she's fantastic as Eleven. But has anyone seen her do the same as Evan when she was a child? Evan put a film on her tinny shoulders at 10 years old (Digging to China). I have not seen Millie do anything like Evan yet. Evan as Jessie in Once and Again, or in Thirteen. I want, in the future, to see Millie make at least half of the complicated and daring characters that Evan has done before the age of 20, choose the same kind of movies and not just blockbusters, to be able to truly judge her as an actress. For the moment, it's just a good project. It's great that she can get advice from Evan, one of the few child actors who made the transition successfully and continues to demonstrate how talented she is. I hope Millie follows the same path.
