Episode 5: In todays lesson we worked on a mixture of roads, starting with small roads and going back into 1st gear for narrow entrances. Dealing with hazards on the main roads, Meeting traffic and how to give-away.
Millie's making great progress with her driving and she's feeling a lot more confident with being able to deal with hazards and oncoming traffic independently.
This lesson was filmed in November (wearing a mask was not mandatory at this point)

She will smash her driving test when the time comes. Great instructor great trainee driver. She does a lot of the things experienced drivers actually struggle with really well. Her positioning generally is really good. All of that is ultimately a reflection of how efficient an instructor is. Great lesson.

Massive respect here, I think your standard of teaching is immense your pupil looked confident because of your calmness and clear instructions need a teacher like yourself I'm 20 hours in and not confident at all, I don't want to say its my instructor as he's a good teacher but I think your kind of teaching would suit me better to be honest.

Well done Millie that was quite a nice drive, people can be so inconsiderate blasting their horns like that. Following a learner they need to be a wee bit more considerate and give you a little extra space and time, because things go wrong when you're learning.

great instructor, but my advice for those who wants to learn to drive is, please dont be nervous, of course be with full atenttion with everything, but if you are less nervous, u make most of the times the best decisions on the road, she drives very well btw

I love the way you’re not really controlling her, letting her be in charge of her own decision and judgement! Today was my 2nd day of training but my instructor keeps putting his hands on the steering wheel and uses the instructor clutch and brakes often, that’s very annoying!🏎️

Very good driving. If she'd also checks the mirrors more often when change direction(even slight) or when slowing down and stoping, she'd smash the test.

My first 4 lessons were on the industrial estate because I was a complete beginner! My test is just before Christmas and I am really hoping I’ll pass as I’ve had nothing but bad news this year so it would be so nice to top the year off! (despite the fact I’ve been waiting 7 months for this test lol)

Been licensed to drive in America for ~9 years now, and I LOVE watching these to see how other countries tackle automotive safety and discipline compared to the miserable way America does. I'd love to take a driving test in another country, especially Germany, since I know it's a much greater privilege than it is for us here. I'd love to earn that.

At 12:24, what do those "zigzag" lines on the road mean? I've observed that those lines are present around traffic lights and pedestrian crossings. So I guess they are meant to warn drivers to slow down when inside those lines.

Hey the zigzag lines are always present on approach to pedestrian crossings You’re not allowed to park or overtake (a motor vehicle )in that section of the road

Also where to hold the steering because my instructor says 15:3 and I have a problem,he says am using my thumb therefore holding the steering wheel tight and loosing focus on the pedals

Very minor thing but I noticed Millie never waved/thanked other drivers for giving way and you stepped in to do it instead. Would you mention that to a learner as it's obviously good road etiquette?

Aman does it for every student, like every instructor does. Waving your hand to say thanks is the absolute least important thing to think about when you're learning to drive.
