Milling attachment on older, atlas lathe.

Күн бұрынAn old milling attachment came with the atlas lathe I purchased on an auction several years ago. I thought I’d take some time and see if I couldn’t make it work. It took a little bit of adjustment, but it will work well for very small jobs.

The OD of your end mill collet is almost immaterial. You need to check the id, you can use a round gage pin mounted in the collet, or even a bit of drill rod.

What is the purpose of the top button head screw on the milling attachment? everyone I've ever seen, including mine is missing that screw

I'd like to know how one gets the milling attachment perpendicular to the lathe head. Were there indexing marks that I missed?
