Good morning, excuse my ignorance: what is the reason for rotating the red "swivel head"? Is it just for the demonstration? Really impressive how much material is removed in such a short time. Kind regards Harald

Yes that´s right. It´s just for demonstration. TAURUS and all our other machine can work with highest accuracy even with extended RAM and rotating gimble head. We did it to show the regidity of our gimble head.

Thank you for your reply! The combination of precision and rigidity is impressive. As a hobby machinist I have a deep respect for your work.

Good evening, How do you control the gimbal head? Directly using a servo motor or through a gear train? And if so how do you avoid backlash and its effects while milling? Impressive work! Regards

Depending on the axis of the gimble head, we use one or two servos with a short, stiff, high precise and backlash free gear train.

Very interisting and impressive machine. I'll probably never need a machine this size nor will I ever be able to afford one but if, I'd consider yours.
