Cool vid. Couldn't u just split it down the middle instead of sawing? I make bows and usually opt for splitting em down the middle rather than go with saw. Tho I know sumtimes can get a barber pole twist.. nice find and vid tho keep up good work

For a self bow, splitting is a good solution, but this was for just hardwood stock. Also splitting a log of this size would be a very difficult task and could ruin a lot of wood if the split goes poorly

That makes sense. U want it square and don't mind if there is runoff cuz won't hurt anything. Might even look nicer. Yeah I thought about it after I said it and thought it was a monster to try and split
