Hey my lovely explorers, today we are off on a European Road trip adventure.... to France!! Starting with a gorgeous abandoned building nestled deep within the French countryside.
The story behind this French abode is one spanning 3 generations. Originally built in 1804 the house was passed down from parent to son where he lived with his wife and children.
During my time here we discovered this beautiful time capsule, literally sat in time for 25 years, i made an error in the video as i said 30 years.
True love lasted forever in this house and it made me sad to learn of the lady’s children passing off illness over the years and finally her darling husband.
Left alone within a truely beautiful home waiting for time to take them both. It’s not just the buildings or items left behind that make these places so fascinating but learning the stories behind them.

For crying out loud it breaks my heart to see these wonderful homes decaying away and everything in them. Of all the ones you have explored I really, really enjoyed this one. It's such a shame to see what meant so much to this family at one time, apparently means nothing to the relatives of the deceased or anyone else. Not the personal photos, not the beautiful paintings, antique furniture, nothing. Such a shame! It's just proof that what you mention so often "We come into our lives with nothing and we leave with nothing!" I believe it's God's way of telling us, there are so many more important things to concentrate on. Like our eternity and where we wish to spend it. I believe the kitchen may have been in that room you entered with the huge fireplace. Do you suppose they used the fireplace to perhaps cook with? Just a thought. As usual just another wonderfully done video by you. Done with respect, appreciation and gratitude!!! Thank you so much for sharing!! You're one of my very favorite explorers!! Have a blessed day and stay safe!!! 😊 Cannot wait for the next one.

I was thinking if it’s a mansion then the kitchens may be in the basement and the sinks in the room would be where they would do the dishes in order to put them back into cupboards

Beautiful footage, I appreciate your videos and I thank you for sharing them all. You do a wonderful job showing us everything. Keep your head held up, you most definitely will keep your channel going. Also the room with the water and fireplace was the kitchen as they had only cold water going in, they would heat water and cook in the fireplace. Also the washroom and toilet was there am being told that the toilet was a large bowl it only flushed you had to add water ( not really sure about this, the toilet)... It's a shame that nobody is trying to sell any of the furniture and things. it's truly unbelievable. Maybe somehow you can challenge the people who flips house's, see who's up for a amazing flip, what do you think ?? Be safe and always have a wonderful day.

I'm SOO glad you've got to explore this home!! It was actually one of the 1st abandoned house videos I ever watched but it was either from Explomo or Bros of Decay. But seeing your version is so much better! I just love the attention to detail you show, like the page number in the book, no one else would've thought to mention that. And the respect you have when talking about things and handling objects. I love it when you go thru the drawers and show us what the owner was like. And when you took the picture of the old lady and held it up to the window and showed just how much its changed, amazing!! I literally drop everything I'm doing when I see your videos pop up and I would be very very sad if you stopped making them! I've seen them all! Ive said it a thousand times before, YOU ARE THE BEST EXPLORER!! Just know that you have your loyal fans (like me😊) who look forward to your videos every week!

Really a beautiful exploration of a home rich in its own history. The fur piece on the bed was most likely a fox or a mink, they often came as a pair, and were worn around the neck of a lady of fashion over her outer coat. The singles ones were meant to look like you had a pet fox riding around on your shoulders likely between 1920s and 40s. That little wheel in the painting room is part of a small upright spinning wheel, often called a “castle Wheel.’ . I think the military canister was used during the War to make and carry hot tea. I’m not done watching yet, but I will add to this if I find more mystery objects.🖤🇨🇦 The upright wooden closets were called “armoires or chifforobes”, and were used before they built closets into houses just after the War. The hall closet with the Murphy bed was in a very strange place given that when extended for use it would obstruct 3 doors or hallways. The newspaper they saved on the wall may have contained a story about the home owners. The four post beds with canopy and side drapes were very efficient, women held onto a post while a ladies maid cinched in her corset as tightly as possible. The canopy kept insects from falling onto the sleeper’s face in the night, and the side curtains kept drafts away from the sleepers. I recall similar school desks for my entire schooling...we had a hole on the upper right to hold an inkwell. The word you are looking for with the stand for painting is called an easel, and made the canvas more stable when painting, and they made outdoor painting possible. The little round tin you picked up as said perfume is actually an atomizer for spraying plants and some art forms. Kitchens were often in an out building, as was laundry ...sometimes in the basement...this was to help avoid house fires which often began in cooking areas. Basements were used because things stayed fresher in the cool. The separate living cottage was likely what we called a Honeymoon Cottage, when a family member would bring his Bride to his family estate...it gave them some privacy. Great and very tasteful exploration of a wonderful property. Your skills are steadily improving. The one sure thing is that the moment we stop caring for the places we have created...Nature will find a toe hold...and in the end, Nature always wins., it looks like the part that has crumbled away already was a glass house, or solarium...lots of ways for a pane to break, or for rain to find a way to trickle in. Stay safe out there.🖤🇨🇦

Those black and white photos in the bedroom...she's been gone waaay longer than 30 years .Those photos are from the 1900-1920 by the fashion, and the little child photo is from the turn of that century 1900...Absolutely stunning, and so is this place...Time and people pass on,but oooh how I wish walls could speak and tell me their story. You are amazing boys.Keep up the wonderful important work.Generations to come need to see this.

This was absolutely one of my favorite explorations! Loved the house, even though I couldn’t help feeling an overwhelming sadness imagining how beautiful and full of life it was for so many years. I think for all of us it can’t help but make one realize how fleeting our lives really are, and, as you said we enter with nothing and leave with nothing except the remnants of our brief lives. You are my favorite David! The music is always the best, the filming so well done and your dialogue so descriptive it brings the place alive once again. (Your soft, sultry voice certainly doesn’t hurt!) You are getting better all the time!

I'm think the room you were in at 9:40 may have been the kitchen at one time. There is no reason to have alcoves in a shed. I couldn't tell but in the one corner that might have been a sink. The large built in cabinet was for dish and whatnot. Love the place. Wish i could save it. The size for the attic was awesome. What you could do with it. Thanks for taking me along on the journey. David, I have to express to you, as an explorer you are truly one that has the upmost respect for not only the abandoned homes you explorer, but also the homeowners belongings. It is only obvious you're into exploring for all the right purposes. You're not in a rush to see whatever valuables you can find, leaving objects scattered and containers opened up. You make sure you return the objects right where you found them. And thankfully, you show the beautiful and intriguing parts of the home, and not just focusing on whatever valuables you hope to find. You handle everything with respect and care. And this is what makes what you do while videotaping, so awesome. Also, you don't use ugly foul language while doing what you enjoy full time. Thank you so very much for the respect, morals and values exhibited and the very groovy entertainment you provide for those of us who also would love to explore abandoned places. But, unfortunately are sadly stuck with old age issues like several joint repacements that would try to prevent us from walking miles through forests and fields, crawling over fences and running to escape Security. Now that would surely be the death of me!! Therefore, at 66 yrs, um young, on this Halloween. I have decided to explore an easy place, a ghost town. It will be my first explore, I just bought my tripod, a flash light head band. Groovy!! My video camera, some mace, a tazer, a machete in case I come across a rattle snake and of course my lifeline in case of an emergency. Like if my right hip falls out, again, I can call for an ambulance. And my mace and tazer just in case I come across something evil during my explore. Honestly Dave, either I wish I were much younger or there were abandoned places intended specifically for old ladies or Senior Citizens, in general. With ramps, bars to hold on to, etc. Because, my dream is to explore abandoned places. And my saying is "Where there is a will, there is a way"!!!!! I have the will, I will find a way, by Willy!!!! Exploring unfortunately wasn't real common when I was growing up in the 70's. Partying was our thing and therefore having no experience with this, I believe a ghost town would be my safest choice to get some beginners experience. I figure it should be pretty safe. Wish me luck. Ghost town here I come!!! Love ya, Dave!! I'm old I'm not dead!!! Dave, besides exploring we have something else in common. We both use a cane, for our third leg!!!.. 😆 Let the truth be told,, I love and collect them old bottles, too. Keep up the great work, heh!!!

Hey Dave 🙋‍♀️💜🇺🇲. Uneven floors in these old abandoned places can move just by walking into a room. I love the old furniture, antiques have not just history but beauty in the craftmanship. Knowing someone built it with their own hands just seals it for me. They don't make things like they used to & people took such pride in what they did. Automation & factories take all of the quality & craftmanship out of something. Dave you are the best & with a huge heart for the people & places you explore & with respect. 👏👏👏🙋‍♀️💜🇺🇲💜

Ikr?! I was like is Dave going to put up a new vid, or did something happen to him? Oh and Dave your new channel should be called the adventures of Dave and Mark! You should also go back to places you explored in your older vids. Some of them your camera gives me motion sickness!

Evidently the husband had a love for his wife's body🙂. Inspite of the damage, the furniture does hold up. You could almost feel the breeze and smell flowers in the swing. You make me nervous, be careful where you walk on unstable floors.

It is extremely sad to see such beautiful things left to rot - but thank you so, so very much for NOT stealing anything. Thank you so, so very much for leaving everything as you find it - it would be a great temptation to “rescue” certain items from certain destruction - but I appreciate so much your respect for the fact that these items belong to someone else, regardless of how they are treated by them! Again - my respectful gratitude to you, for leaving these places as you find them. It is important, truly.

Cannot tell you what joy I feel to see a notification of a new explore being uploaded. This one was absolutely stunning. Got to be one of the best you have done and love the music that went with it. Almost felt as though I was there. The little touch that made this video explore so complete was seeing Poppy the AWE red duck at the end on the post with you standing by it.. Well done Dave, keep these coming. You really are the absolute best.

What a beautiful house it makes me sad to see such beautiful furniture and beautiful house being sent to the heap course I don’t know what taxes like ours with her in friends maybe the property tax or death tax are so high that it just kills these families but wish it showed the paintings on the wall a little closer sometimes you often wonder if some of those or possibly they were paintings that were done by artist early in your career and now work until the mount of money just wishing oh I think that the animal

Well you've outdone yourself again with this amazing explore. I could just move right in there and live while I fix up the place. Loved the secret door to the painting gallery. I wonder what instrument was played? It could have been anything although I suspect violin with all the notes above and below the staff. Amazing! Keep exploring and stay safe out there! P.S. I was on the edge of my seat with all the dogs barking - thought this might be where the incident occurred with the locals. ;-)
