I started Dave Ramsey's baby steps in sept 2016 with $124k, became debt free in jan 2021 and have been debt free for 3 yrs now. Completed step 3 last year, while doing what I love, traveling! using cash and with Kids! and have been doing baby step 4 5 and 6. Thank you Dave, you have changed my family tree forever! We all appreciate all your work and your teachings!

@@edjohn4590 give yourself some grace. After 2 years you deserve a treat. Whatever it is for you: a vacation, a concert, etc. I found it helpful to break up the sum into new "babysteps" or rather another snowball system : pay of 2000, then 5000,then 7000, then the rest?

@edjohn4590 I just kept looking at how much interest I was giving away for FREE to the banks. I would review the statements, and it would SERIOUSLY piss me off 😠 😡. Another example. While I was paying off my car loan, I kept laughing when BOA would say, "no payment due until (2 years later). Basically trying to entice me to slow down on making such high payments. ( Min payment $199, but I was making $1k payments.) Print out your goal (for example, be debt free) and place it next to your budget area. PUT AS MUCH MONEY AS POSSIBLE TO YOUR DEBT!!! Smallest to largest like the snowball. You got this!!

Such market uncertainties are the reason I don’t base my market judgements and decisions on rumours and here-says, got the best of me 2020 and had me holding worthless position in the market, I had to revamp my entire portfolio through the aid of a planner, before I started seeing any significant results happens in my portfolio, been using the same advisor and I’ve scaled up 750k within 2 years, whether a bullish or down market, both makes for good profit, it all depends on where you’re looking.

Very good planning, Mama. I'm doing a binder with this all. We've got our notarized wills, we've got burial plots we've been saving for that we're buying next month, God willing, and I'm putting together a "do this after I die" binder and including copies of ids, passports, insurance cards, bank accounts, SSN/SIN. A to do list will be in there : things to cancel, money to claim, taxes to be sure to pay, release letter from the IRS/CRA, a reminder to get several death certificates and medical release (? I forget what it's called). I'm supplying paperwork I can now, and putting pockets in the binder in there for the different docs they'll need to get + steps to take, contacts they'll need.

The Ramsey Solutions Program is good for people who are bad with money, but bad for people who are good with money. Those who are good with money would rather have a more optimal plan for better returns. It's like if you're goal is to travel from Maine to Florida, the Ramsey Plan would be to take a bike or walk and they'd speak against driving a car because people get in wrecks all the time and can't be trusted on the roads.

Hi George and Dave!! Dave came and spoke to my church (Willow Creek in So. Barrington, IL) about debt and financial peace. While we only had a mortgage at the time as we had learned the hard way in years previous, of being over our heads in CC debt/car loans, etc. but we still spent to our income. Talk about a mind shift after doing Financial Peace University! We were so convicted, we gifted our daughter and son-in-law to take the course. Here we are about 15ish years later, completely financially independent, debt free including the house, I was able to retire, and, of course, know where every dollar goes!.

Thanks Dave and George! We’ve always believed in living within our means and never got into consumer debt - except for cars, which we’d buy and then pay off early. I also “budgeted” by tracking where our money went more than telling it what to do. Well, after years of being what we believed was more or less Ramsey adjacent, I got tired of us not having the savings and not being able to pay for a car in cash, and we’re jumping on the real Ramsey plan and doing the baby steps for the first time in 2024. I’m using EveryDollar, manually recording every purchase, and the goal this year is to knock out baby steps 2 and 3 this year: pay off my husband’s truck in the first half of the year and have a 6 month emergency fund in the second half of the year. We’ve caught the vision. Thanks for all you do and being yourselves while you do it. Love the Christian integrity of the Ramsey team.

In 2023, one word became significant to me. In my Bible Study of Philippians, it became evident that dispite whatever life brings to you, God brings contentment. Whether in plenty or in want, in easy times, or in difficult times, because God promised life for us, life more abundant than we could ever conceive...we really can be content. And what I've always heard from Dave Ramsey, and all of his Ramsey personalitites is that same encouragement of his program leading to "contentment". And hearing Dave reiterate that sense of contentment doesn't come from his millions, but from helping others work their way up to that same level of contentment. But it's not based on chasing after more money, but realistic understanding that if you do want to help others, you really do "have to put on your own oxygen mask first" before you can help others. And then, we'll help you understand how your can achieve your own contentment and see how much fun it is to help others as well.

Our household goal this year is to be able to give more food to children back in the Philippines. We were unable to give last year due to my brother's medical emergency and his passing. :( Intentional giving is one thing that I learned from uncle Dave, thanks uncle Dave! :) SO we put aside portion of our income like a sinking fund then come end of the year our family would work together to buy food for the children in grade school plus the teachers. We include techers because we appreciate the teacher's service. Love it!

My goal for 2024 is to become debt free and we're almost there! We have $6500 left in my husbands student loans and then we're done (besides mortgage). I predict in the next 3-4 months we'll have that paid off. The way we finally managed to pay off our debt was starting a small business and working our butts off. It's been an insane blessing!

Back in 2008, we all got to see how leverage (borrowing) and living beyond our means caused a major economic stink. Not much time after that, people just went back to their bad financial ways. So thankful to Dave and now the rest of the team taking up the gauntlet of financial responsibility. Not only is it important for our own personal peace and spiritual financial character, but it impacts the world our kids will live in. Thank you all for what you do!

My goal this year is to increase my (negative) net worth by at least $30k. So far I've sold my car and saved a bunch and I already increased it by $20k so not much more to go! The only debt I have is student loans now and those are on track to be paid off by next year. From there, I want to save at least 50% of my income to retire early! This channel really helps keep me motivated 🙏🏻

Dave said he enjoys helping people with their finances and that is why he is still working. I think in Retirement if you decide to volunteer for something pick something you enjoy doing. I will be volunteering at the Cleveland mission helping people who had a run in with the law get back on their feet. My last volunteer project was 5 years with the big brother little brother program helping a young boy thru the foster program to getting adopted. Dave and the Ramsey team thank you for making a difference in people's lives.

Really enjoyed this! We went from bs 4-6 in 2020 to trying to keep our head above water in 2023. Now getting back on track with converting a part of our home into a flat that we rent out full time and converting our garage into an airbnb unit(we live in a tourism area)🎉. This year we are aiming for: paying ourselves back for the cash builds we did on the flats, 2. Re-save for a bigger car for our growing family(used the money we had saved for the build) and 3 doing big chunks in paying off our house quicker. Haven't had a salary increase in 3 years, but this year we gave ourselves an also 20% increase with our rentals. 🎉

This was very entertaining, Dave hit it on the head, George is snarky (this is why I watch him so much)! My 2024 goal is to finally be debt free! I should hit the mark in August. We have a challenge at work of who can get free first. I started the year cutting up and cancelling my credit cards (thanks Dave). I have a great budget I'm sticking to for the next 45 years (thanks Racheal). I drive a used hooptie like George (2013 Grey Tesla Model S), not wasting our income on foolish purchases, and planning for my legacy. I will execute Steps 3,4,5 this year. Step 5 is for my granddaughter, I already paid for daughters' education with cash and taught her the Baby steps too! Endless thanks-James

Hi Dave and George, coming from a school system or parents where financial education is not a thing, I think I’m doing great at 34 with family. I have acquired three lotes/lands over the past 2 years, debt free and our plan this year is continue learning, reading more about financial literacy and grow our savings for more opportunities in the future. Thanks!

George, I think seeing more everyday millionaires on this show is a fantastic idea. Also, my financial goal for 2024 is to have $10K of $30K saved for a down payment on a home. I’m just now starting to save for a down payment so it will take about three years. I’m staying on BS4 instead of going to BS3 b because I put retirement on hold for too long. So it’s a slower process, but I want to do it the right way.

We are in BS 4 & 6 (kids are in college, paid for) and our money goal this year is to save to replace our front steps and research and price out a generator for our home. We are also focused on paying off our house early! $230K left. We want to get it paid off soon to still be able to visit Dave for our debt free scream. So tell him he can’t retire just yet. 😉 We love you, George! Happy New Year.

Fairly new to watching and listening to all Ramsay and the other personalities and perspectives on the show. Unlike many people we know my husband and I hate the idea of debt! It's just that extra thing on your mind or looming over your shoulder. We are on baby step 2 working on paying off our car and little credit card... We should be free of our debt moderately cutting back our expenses in 10 months! Then we will attack the mortgage! I would love to read this book! Hoping everyone has a healthy & productive 2024! 🎉

I use to a be a huge credit card person, a huge borrower on cars and business ideas. For 2024, all I want is a clean slate. Once I got that 800 credit score, I felt nothing. I was still staring down debt that was more than my annual income. I started listening to George Kamel before I even knew Dave Ramsey. I’m not even a reader but I truly just want to be debt free.

My money goals for 2024. 1. To finish paying off all Credit cards $15,000. (I am on track to finish in 7 months :)) 2. To pay an additional 10,000 on the car payment by the end of the Year which will only leave 9,000 left for the first 6 months of 2025. This will make us debt-free!!!!!!!!! to do this I took on a second job that is now bringing in as much as my regular job. I also am finishing a Master's degree this May and I will be moving on from the regular job to more lucrative opportunities.
