I am always amazed that such a diverse musical history has come from the USA. This real country music is some of the best. I guess it is because of the diversity of peoples in your lovely nation. You can hear influences from the Irish, Scottish, English immigrants as well as the Spanish, French and Nth African people that made up your population. And I believe that the magic ingredient that links all this wonderful music together is that Americans early on, were like many nations of the time, slave traders. We humans came out of Africa many thousands of years ago and we settled far and wide - we settled in hot and cold climate - we have been almost too successful. But the rhythms of Africa still stir us all - long may it continue! Peace and Love from New Zealand.

I'm 65 years old and I'm so blessed to have seen these guys, Loretta, Tammy, Faron Young, Ferlin Husky, Bill Anderson, etc. I never wanted to be an old coot who dwelled on the past and said my music was better but in this case, yeah it sure was. There are some artists out there carrying on the tradition but Cashville only records and promotes what will sell to the deluded masses. It is really sad.

George and Merle have so much soul in their voices because they lived most of what they sing about. New country artists suffering is doing without their morning coffee.
