Usually, I agree that the director should pick their actors. However, the casting for superheroes movies in a specific universe are run differently. James Gunn is leading the new DC universe, so it makes sense that he is in charge of the casting

Sasha Calle was a perfect supergirl. The Flash wasn’t great because the story was silly. Sasha was actually a bright spot in the film and she played the role amazingly well. Warner doesn’t know its 🫏 from a 🕳️ in the ground.

If we are going to talk about a casting choice for this show and someone lot looking attractive Emma is clearly an obvious person to mention since everyone with an IQ above room temp knows that there is only 1 reason she's on the show in the first place. Isn't she literally showing up in Superman: Legacy, though? So Vince's statement makes even less sense than just being made because he was butthurt. Every casting announcement we've heard, regardless of whether or not the actors are going to be the leads in other projects, are casting announcements for Superman: Legacy. That, and the fact Viola Davis is still Amanda Waller. But other than that, we've only heard about Superman. We have yet to hear anything from Creature Cammandos, or literally any other project, even the ones with confirmed directors, regardless of how big the property is.
