Millyard RC374 Honda six replica - Episode 4 - How its made

Allen Millyard

3 жыл бұрын

In this video I show some details of how I made the frame, for my RC 374 six cylinder, Honda RC174 replica, then built it up into a rolling chassis and fitted the engine. I also show how I made the gear lever from 6082T6 aluminium plate, including forming the internal spline so it will slide onto the gear change shaft. A lot of the footage originates from still photos taken when I was making the RC374 in 2017. The photos were not taken with video production in mind, but hopefully they show sufficient detail.

Can work as a smaller displacement cosuming lesser fuel at the lower rpm and also can work as the bigger displacement at the higher rpm along with cosuming greater fuel. Once again, the sound output will have the most beautiful smooth tone in every rpm. I just love your hobby. Am learning a lot from you Sir.

You have given me the ability to love metal work Alan. I love the calculations, method and finished projects. You make it interesting for a layman and no doubt infuriating for all the metal hobbyists out there. However, I'm sure they're envy is short lived and replaced with appreciation for the detail and love you put into every piece that you make. I'd like to see you make a bicycle for speed. Big cogs and some sort of semi auto gearshift like you had on the mountain bike you made for your son. I've always wondered how many gears you'd need for pure speed on a road bike. Ah well I will dream on. Thank you ❤️ for your content.

Im doing my first bike - putting a standard of honda cb back on the road. Whenever I encounter a problem I think I cannot overcome, I always think of the problems you've solved. This tends to give me the kick up the arse to persevere!

Just last week I cut up some 1/2inch steel rod into 2 one inch lengths. Then drilled a 3/8th hole through them to make some spacers to fit to the bottom of the damper rods of my GT 750 forks. The cuts weren’t square. The holes were off-centre. I was well pleased with them though. That’s the difference between mortals; and engineering Gods.

Making the spline was just amazing and enjoyable. I particularly liked it when he scribed a line across the aluminium with a sharpened spoke.
