dude I've been saying this for years since i was a conservative at Wright State University especially when they found out i was conservative. ..i would be one of two in the entire classroom and the students and the professors would talk down, but the profs would still give me As because they can't fight against the facts. I'm conservative with a liberal arts degree. This is my alma mater. I find it disturbing that Chancellor Dirks wasn't able to create a safe environment for Milo. That area of the building was really nicely refurbished a couple years back. I think it's the fact that he's gay and therefore one of the prized members of the left refusing to conform that scares the shit out people. I wonder if it was a straight white guy if they'd get this apoplectic. Maybe they would being it's so close to the election. The violent was probably mostly from non students being that's it's really close to Telegraph street and Berkeley students (at least while I was there ) are way too docile to work up that much rage.

I think they are right, but they are wrong in one thing - there is a clear definition of hate speech.... Hate speech is quite precisely defined in some EU countries (and it has good historical reasons to be defined so). You can read some definitions of some countries (I am Czech so I know our situation), but also Denmark, Germany has it. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Freedom_of_speech_by_country#Czech_Republic Of course Milo is not doing a hate speech in this sense. From what I know hate speech is mostly defined - if you really incites violence against group of people , you threat people or intimidate them etc. So in this sense "punch a Nazi" would be considered a hate speech under the law here.... if you would publicly incite people to "punch" somebody = that is a hate speech. So believe me - hate speech laws are the only laws which can prevent for example radical Islamic imams to spread their voilent ideology.... In USA they can freely do it under 1st amendment..... Germany closed some radical salafis mosques based on hate speech laws btw....
