The Petzl Tactical EXO EASHOOK system was originally designed to help get first responders out of trouble, but the military realized it's potential and quickly perverted its design to help them do the opposite. The 2.9 pound kit consists of 50 feet of 7.5mm Technora heat- and cut-resistant line with a captive EASHOOK 'biner on the anchor end and the tactical EXO self-braking belay device on the other.
The kit can live unnoticed on the back of your armor package, unnoticed in its own pouch until needed. When needed, snap one end to an anchor point and the other to your assault harness, and its Batman time. Drop over the edge with one finger holding the lowering bar. Let go and you stop, letting you bring your attention to your weapon, teammate or target. The system is notable for its size, weight and simple operation, but proper training is required to operate it. Available now, $420

The tibloc is loaded wrong, you should be capturing the rope in the biner when you attach it. also you can use the foot loop to ascend while using the brake strand (bight) redirect. you may also be able to redirect the brake strand and redirect it so that you pull the brake strand and winch yourself up without creating slack between the tibloc and the device. a tiny lightweight pulley sauch as would be used for cravasse rescue might help a lot when ascending or hauling.

I thought stuff like swinging or shooting through windows from a rappel line was for movies and games. Didn't know there were actual units that train in that area. Great video! I love tactical stuff.

it's very good stuff until rope is dry. Working on grigri with wet rope is like a riding evil horse - you "jump" on descent all the time and sometimes need to "feed" it. And also Eashook uses regular carabiner to attach device to user wich needs lot time to dettach it

just an observation. by positioning the gate of your caribiner (which is three way loaded) so the gate faces up you reduce the chance of blowing it open if you slip transitioning an edge (quite common), the vast majority of biners crush rating is around 1kn DMM makes all their locker to a minimum of 5kn

I am also curious as to the single handed rap method, in case of "panic pull" did you train to pull hard on the brake strand so your hand pulls off the handle? if not if you officer pulls harder they will just go faster.

Better to have sniper coverage at 90-degrees instead of top cover. Also, put a retention lanyard on your handgun and an ASAP Lock as a safety. You also didnt back up your anchor point with a lowering system in cas your operator is injured.

Yes it is based on the GriGri! But it is also one of a few true handsfree devices. HiEnd Rope with Nomex and a super-skinny diameter. Try your gear at 600°C and sharp edges with no hands, you will have a really bad time! its well spend money, i bet my life on.

Not exactly sure what gear the Yanks were using in 1989 while I served as a member of the French Foreign Legion's 2 REP -- Mountain Company (2 Cie) but an American military officer had my best mate wear his (yank harness) on a demonstration show....my buddy, James Phillips, from BC, Canada, fell to his death near our home base of Camp Raffali in Calvi, Corsica, when his harness broke open. No respect here.
