We take a look at the 12v 1/2 inch hammer drill driver from milwaukee. In their M12 lineup, this 12v tool is no slouch. After several years of usage, it still works reliably. But. how does it stand up against other drills on the market? let's find out.
Recently replaced by the new Milwaukee 2504, if you have one i don't think an upgrade to the new model is required.
The M12 FUEL1/2" Hammer Drill/Driver delivers unmatched runtime, power under load and durability. This lightweight, versatile hammer drill/driver provides up to 10X longer motor life, 2X more power and 4X more runtime. The POWERSTATE Brushless Motor outperforms all leading competitors with constant power output, yet runs cooler and quieter with no wearable components. REDLINK PLUS intelligence ensures optimized performance and protects your investment from overload, overheating and over-discharge. It can be used with the REDLITHIUM 2.0 Compact Battery Pack and 4.0 Extended Capacity Battery Packs, which deliver more work per charge and more work over pack life than the competitors, even in extreme conditions. The M12 FUEL Hammer Drill/Driver’s onboard fuel gauge helps you monitor the charge precisely, so there’s less downtime on the job, and a built-in LED Light illuminates the work surface. An all-metal ratcheting locking chuck provides maximum grip, bit retention and durability. A new contoured soft grip gives you ultimate comfort during prolonged use.

thank you... was genuinely surprised (but happy) that this came out behind the LXT subcompact of the previous video. which will be my preferred small drill now instead of this one. It solves that purchasing dilemma between these 2 tools. Appreciate it 👍

If yall wanna test the newer version of this hammer drill, I've got an unused one id sell for a fair price. I bought a combo thinking I wanted 12 volt, but I changed my mind and and going to sell the impact to a friend. It at least looks better than this behemoth of a 12v lol.

One thing I've learned watching your videos... Overall, Makita is King.

Haha depends on how your priority list looks. All in all, almost all “name brand” tools are good, if not great tools. Most of them will get the job done. Just a personal preference on feel, color, and small details.

@@4thewinak so it would be safe to assume you've never tried a Dewalt Atomic? 🤣 🤣 🤣 ... I went ham on those when they came out. I thought "I can now leave the 12v for the Mrs, and I can use the same 20v for smaller tools?!?! YES PLEASE!!!" ($400 wasted lol) I did same when Flexvolts came out, and oooof that bad first batch of batteries, and the Atomic lineup taught me a great lesson; Never Buy a Tool Unless it's been tested. Lol. Then I bought a new DWS779, and sold my old one. Then when I opened it up, it was a type 22 and my older one was a type 20... fuhhhhh that was a huge mistake. Needless to say, I'm officially done buying any yellow tools that start with the letter D. I kept the better tools they once made, but dumped the rest. I'd just jump to using all Festool if they'd make a Blade Left Track Saw. Any company that does it first gets my Loyalty. (Except Kreg)

@@carterscustomrods The atomic stuff is okay if your expectations are realistic. But you can definitely feel that they are cheaper in quality than their makita equivalents. Overall I agree, Makita isnt always the cutting edge or dyno queen, but their tools put in the work reliably around the world. Let us not forget that Makita is also popular in Europe, dewalt and milwaukee not so much? (i never saw any when there). Anyways, like 4thewin said, it depends on your needs.

Get the M18 for the hammer drill. If it’s the hammer and spade drill action you want, the M12 format is weak and redundant.
