The MILWAUKEE® M12 FUEL SURGE™ ¼” Hex Hydraulic Driver is the industry's first 12-volt hydraulic impact driver. The FLUID-DRIVE™ Hydraulic Powertrain's hydraulic impact allows for operation up to 2X quieter with less vibration for smoother and faster driving speeds. Its compact size provides unmatched access in tight spaces and allows for easy transport on a tool belt or in a tool bag. The POWERSTATE™ Brushless Motor delivers up to 0-3,000 RPM with constant power output to drive screws faster. REDLINK PLUS™ Intelligence prevents damage to the tool and battery caused by overloading or overheating. The cordless impact driver is compatible with all M12™ REDLITHIUM™ Compact Batteries or Extended Capacity Batteries, delivering more work per charge and more work over the life of the pack. The impact driver's 4-Mode DRIVE CONTROL delivers greater control over output speed and power for greater versatility. Self-Tapping Screw Mode reduces walking when self-tapping screws as well as reduces overdriving, breaking and stripping out screws.

Nice! I always found the impact drivers to be ridiculously loud due to the metal on metal. This is a major step forward in engineering. A standard impact driver seems primitive

Id like to see that it’s 2x as quiet. It’d have to be at max 50db.... since other videos I’ve seen of older ones were around 90+/- so 50db is actually more than it should be.... but I bet it’s a lot louder than 50db

db scale is not linear. 100 to 90 is 50% reduction and so on. Regular impacts go as loud as 110 db on long fasteners that take time. Surge usually stops on 90-92 in a hard surfaced room on speed 3 with longer screws. Lower on speed 2. And small screws that does not crank the machine up you get the "promised" db. I heard somewhere that the testing is done in a room that is built to kill noise with alot of soft insulation and so results aren't true to reality. But having tried both I can say the difference in sound is huge. But it's still loud and I recommend ear protection.

I bought the M12 hammer drill from Home Depot. The trigger broke off during the very first use. Within two weeks of buying the hammer drill Home Depot refused to replace it because I no longer had the box. I already disliked Home Depot for past bad service. This was my first Milwaukee tool. I spend thousands on tools. I no longer buy Milwaukee or shoo at home depot. I took the loss because it's not worth the time and energy to replace a $99.00 tool. Milwaukee and Home Depot need serious work on their customer service relationship between manufacturer, retailer and customer. I tell everyone I know not buy milwaukee and NEVER shop at Home Depot. My clients trust me.
