The m12 gen 3 fuel impact driver is more powerful than an M18 brushed or even the M18 gen 1 fuel. You can definitely build an average sized deck with an M12 fuel impact driver on a single fully charged xc 4.0 battery.

I believe it! The M12 impact driver has really come a long way

I don't know what you consider average, it took 8 batteries to do a 34'×40' deck😂

You can do the same with the old M12. I've done it. This didn't have the 6ah batteries

As a mechanic, I like to use the weaker older one for smaller bolts and interior work. I can really sit on and drive the bolts down without much worry of stripping something. having experience with the new m12 driver, I tend to strip and melt plastics pieces (probably because I have a heavy touch which is user error). I use my m12 stubby or m18 1/4 hex for larger fasteners.

I use a hex driver with attachments for sockets and torx it has numbers up to 10 for power settings basically and a drill setting

I can do impeller housing bolts with my m12 on boat lower units. Just set it to 1 or the 2nd speed and it’s pretty safe

No experience with these tools. But the M12 3/8 & 1/4 Ratchet are my favorite tools.

They still sell that "older" impact driver. It is brushed while the newer one has a brushless motor.
