What's the Milwaukee M18 Fuel 21-inch mower like? We got hold of one and gave it a good old test. How does it compare to other battery mowers? Check out the video to find out...

I had this mower last season (in the northeastern United States). Really tried to like it, but the hand control never suited me. I think the mulching performance was really lacking. But the bagging is, oddly, pretty great. Luckily a buddy needed a mower. I’m back to Toro for mowers.

Nice work. I reckon I’ll be buying that one too soon. It’s the best battery mower I’ve used so far. Thanks for watching.

Thanks for the honest review. Been looking at this mower for a while, don’t think I’ll be buying it though, as that thing catching the lawn underneath would really annoy me.

Battery gear makes a long day just so much nicer. Looking forward to seeing if the new Greenworks commercial mowers cut the mustard.

Totally agree mate. The Greenworks look great but the mowers only go down to 35mm which is such a shame as it’s no where near low enough for here.

@@lovelawns I’d throw a 10mm spacer on and 25mm is the lowest I cut.
@lovelawns

Might work for you then. 25mm would do about 60% of my lawns. Good idea with the spacer but I’m not keen on that and potential voiding of warranties. Cheers.

If I’m spending $2k on a mower it needs to be better. If I’ve got to start cutting things and adding spacers, to make it work as I need it to, voiding warranties and potentially introducing safety issues I’m not so keen. Rather just use what I have.

@@lovelawns that’s a fair point. I’ve been running a timemaster with spacers for a couple of years and it’s my go to mower now. But I agree ideally it would be set up correctly from the factory. Unfortunately US mowers don’t cater to Aussie’s love of a low cut lawn.

I agree the thumb control is poorly designed. Something must be up with yours because I never had the mulch issue. Might want to complain to Milwaukee and see if they have a solution.

Thanks mate. Yeah someone else mentioned they spoke to Milwaukee and they sent them an updated mulch plug which was slightly different and it sorted it out. 🤷

Great video Kai , I haven't tried the Milwaukee mower as yet and after your honest comments its not one I will seek out . The search goes on for the right battery mower I think between the two of us we could design the ultimate mower. I am thinking of getting the makita before summer hits because as you say battery gear is just nicer to use. What happened to the stihl whipper snipper vid ?

Thanks mate, appreciate you watching and commenting. Yeah the Milwaukee is great but not quite there for us commercial guys. Definitely prefer the Makita, but I haven’t pulled the trigger on that yet. It’s pretty pricey with the 8 x 8ah batteries I’ll need for a full day. Currently it’s the only battery mower I’d consider buying tho. Whipper snipper video is recorded, I just need to edit it together and haven’t had the time. Standby sir 👍🏻🙂 how good would it be to design and build our own mower! love that idea.

Deciding between the Milwaukee and EGO for my residential lot. Any suggestions?

Do you have any current gear and batteries? If so I’d go with that brand. If you are deciding on a new system, to be honest either is great and for residential / home owner use you won’t go wrong with Milwaukee or Ego. The good thing with Milwaukee is once you have the batteries you have a far wider range of other tools you can se them in if you need to. Ego is mostly just OPE gear. Cheers

The Husqvarna battery mowers, I’d wait a bit until they bring out better ones. Some of the petrol ones are good tho. Cheers
