I met with the Milwaukee rep after loving the drill so much and deciding to go all wireless and bought the M12 hardshell heated jacket, a bunch of Milwaukee gloves, 6 M12 batteries (2 compact and rest largest), the 14” Redstick digital level (which is unbelievable. I just used it for a handicap ramp to measure exact angle and also for some flagstone mortar repair), 3” cutoff tool, M12 Rocket Tower Light, M18 Fuel chainsaw, M12 soldering iron, M18 7-1/4” circular saw, 360 degree pocket level, M18 Fuel Super Sawzall, M18 finish nailer 15ga, M18/M12 Rapid Charger (one at each client’s house), 4 M18 batteries in each size, M18 4-1/2” Grinder, M18 random orbit sander, M18 wet/dry vac (my new favorite tool), M18/M12 jobsite speaker (so pissed it doesn’t charge batteries but sound is great!), right angle adapter, complete shockwave drivers and drill bits, hardhats, safety goggles and sunglasses, knives, 3 Ticks, and some other stuff I’m sure I haven’t logged yet lol. So yeah, safe to say I’m a full-blown Milwaukee guy now. My buddy just dropped like $50k on Festool products, so we are looking forward to a comparison. Oh, and I got the M18 leaf blower the other day and I used to hate doing leaves. One thing I gladly subbed out. Now I can’t put the thing down. One home I manage is wooded and every day I do a quick blow to stay on top of the leaves when I get there. It even blew piles of soaking wet leaves the other day so well I was in shock while using it. Another client has another landscaper who happened to come same day to do leaves with 6 guys with gas backpack blowers and a truck with a huge vacuum hose. I got out the M18 blower, popped a 12Ah battery on it, and decided to compare it with the gas. The landscapers went from laughing to speechless real quick. Anyway, I know this is extremely long, but just wanted to say hi and thanks for the videos and enabling my Milwaukee purchases. Speaking of which, my latest project is refinishing mahogany doors I needed a “dremel” for to get the old gunk and stain out of the carvings. Of course I haven’t gotten the Milwaukee rotary yet and had to break out the extension cord for the first time in awhile. I forgot how annoying cords are. Anyway, picking up the Milwaukee rotary tool bright and early then starting on a 32’ Riva mahogany boat build I’m sure will need some more Milwaukee tools lol. Anyway, my only complaints with the M12 system are 1, there is no battery level indication display on some devices and 2, the batteries are a pain to get in and out compared to the M18 and other systems. That would be fine and good if it meant a rock solid fit. However, of course while hanging a $100k chandelier the other day, I had the battery pack fall right out of my drill and into the chandelier, one snap broke off. Thankfully, no damage to the chandelier. However, this is unacceptable. There is a remote chance I didn’t slam the pack in hard enough, but I’m a competitive shooter, so instinctually I bang in a magazine or battery. I’m considering an M18 drill for this reason. I’ve never wanted for power with the M12, even drilling a 3/4” hole through a brick exterior wall using a very long bit. So yeah, that’s all I have for now. Excited to try out the rotary tomorrow!

Hi Scott, now that you’ve had the router for a year, what do you think of it? Did you order the plunge base? I just received the router a couple of weeks ago and picked up the base last week, after ordering it online at HD. However I don’t have any bits yet! I’m open to some recommendations though! The Freud are a bit too expensive…

@Abdul Rahman Most of my battery powered tools are Makita. I love Milwaukee too though. I've lost count on how many batteries I have lol, so it's not the biggest issue, but for some things, it sure would be nice to know you can keep going without being interrupted.

The cordless tool manufacturers are REALLY missing a revenue opportunity here. It should be very low effort to develop an accessory like that.

@@floobertuber I agree. I have to assume that they think it will gouge into their profits on battery sales, but I'm not convinced that it would. I still prefer no cords and so I will buy the same number of batteries as I do now to keep myself cordless. But sometimes things happen on the job or we might forget a battery, or whatever. In fact, how many people might look at a product line like Milwaukee and think, "I don't want to spend that much on batteries." Those people aren't going to be buying their batteries AND won't buy the tools either. But maybe, if there was the option to go with a cable while their one battery is charging, they might be more inclined to buy the tool. And hey, get them to buy even one tool and you're a lot closer to getting them to buy another and another. And once they're hooked, they won't care how much the batteries are, they'll just start buying those too.

@Abdul Rahman Exactly! I think we're making a case here. How about this scenario too?... You're using your miter saw, it's eating up batteries, and you're trying to do a ton of repetitive stuff and you're going to be at the saw for awhile, and there is a socket right there. Now one could say no big deal and just keep switching out batteries, but here's something that I don't see a lot of people talking about... You're in a groove and kicking butt on getting your stuff done, and then BAM!!!... battery dead. It might not seem like much, but the danger here (if maybe your other battery is charging a little further away, maybe plugged in before you realized there was a socket next to the saw), and now you have to go get the battery. You just broke your concentration and your groove. And any number of things can distract you on the way to the battery and back again. Especially if you have teammates that see you on the move and want something from you (pencil, tool, your attention, just to talk, etc. etc). Anything that takes us off of what we're immediately working on puts our productivity at risk. That sounds pretty freakin important. And if a cord can keep that from happening, that's huge.

Definitely agree for larger tools (like the Milwaukee miter and table saws - or they're 2 gal vac for that matter). I think it would be tough to implement an elegant solution on something this small though.

Do Milwaukee make an attachment that could clip into the battery mount which has a cord? That way, any M18 tool could become corded in an emergency.. ?

I've got that XR been using for a month because I couldn't wait for Milwaukee. I also love the DeWalt it's a great tool and a huge improvement over setting up my lumbering Bosch in it's plunge base for trimming and edge profiling.

It's better. The Milwaukee has a major flaw of holding adjustment as many have reported.

I think I know why bosch put bluetoth socket in every tool. They could add makitas ability to power on the vacuum on start.
