Today we review Milwaukee M18 Drill and Impact Driver Combo. This drill and impact kit comes with the tools, 2 5ah batteries, a charger for m18 and m12, and a carrying case. The impact tool was my most used tool as an automotive mechanic. Both tools have great power and brushless motors. Thanks to Home Depot for providing these tools.

Upgraded from an older 18v kit. kzfaq.infoUgkxW1vOBRCMrgTCDEijzpVzDWsgI-Jm2iQv I independently chose the drill and impact tool, before I came across the kit.I like the 3 speed impact gun. It seems more powerful than my older one, and it can be set to be really gentle. The drill is more appropriately sized for my use. I used to have a hammer drill, but I did not like that it was so big and it was not a great hammer drill. I rather have a smaller drill like this, and then get a corded hammer drill for the odd case I need that.

I've owned an M18 impact and drill set for 2 years. As a service plumber these things have had a hard life. I've done countless fresh water and sewer re-pipes with them. The drill has seen thousands of 1 3/8" self feeding holes for water lines and 2 3/8" - 4" holes for drains. Half inch holes in the concrete when my rotary tools were down. I've used my impact for all of my metal drilling, wood screws, lag bolts, maintenance on my personal vehicles, maintenance on tank less/regular water heaters and sewage ejector pumps. These tools are a great investment and this particular set doesn't owe me a thing.

humble fyi that last mode on the impact is for self tapping screws. slowly ramps up the speed so it doesnt walk on ya and the slows it way down to set the screw nicely and not over drive it. mainly useful when screwing down sheetmetal screws with the rubber gaskets on them

As an electrician, all my power tools are Milwaukee. Hands down the best tools. By the way the fourth setting is for self tapping screws, works great.

I got sucked into the Milwaukee hype bullshit and bought a load of M18 fuel gear. The gear is cheap shit, the triggers on all four of my tools often don't work and the torque claims are bollocks. I have gone back to Hilti and on head to head testing in my workshop they piss all over The Milwaukee's.

The 4th setting is for self tapping screws and it will tighten all the way up to first impact so that you don’t strip your hole; it’s designed for putting up metal siding.

Absolutely love my M18 impacts, the 1/4" is great for interior stuff and body work. The 3/8" is what gets the most use in my collection, working under the hood it has more then enough power to do just about anything I want it to, and can get the tool onto. Their 1/2" impact, while heavy, works wonderfully for getting lug nuts and crank bolts off. And so far haven't been able to kill them either, which is a major plus. Anyone looking to get into these tools, CPO outlets sells factory refurb's for a good price if you're into that, and of course Home Depot has them new as well. Keep an eye on HD around the holidays, as they have the batteries on sale a lot.

Thanks for the review. It’s clear you took a lot of time using the tools and I appreciate not only your thoroughness, but also your honesty. So many other reviewers tend to just seem like infomercials. It’s nice to see that your dedication is to us viewers, and not the manufacturers. A giveaway of these would be awesome, but no one could blame you for wanting to keep these. 😁

Milwaukee fuel line up is awesome. Got rid of my snap on cordless tools and replaced them with Milwaukee and am so glad I did. The 1/2 drive one key impact smokes anything snap on has by a long shot.

Ive always likes Milwaukee the electrical company i use to work for ditched all their dewalt power tools in favor of Milwaukee. Also when i was an apprentice i had the little m12 impact and absolutely loved that thing its fallen off 50ft lifts, been soaked in mud pits, used hard everyday, and also has been run over by a work van and still runs strong. 10/10 would buy Milwaukee again.

HumbleMechanic I’m just a DIYer but... How about a video of some quirky items that you use that most folks didn’t think about? For example, I use one of my wife’s old yoga mats for things like laying on the vehicle floor when I have to work under a dash, laying on the driveway when I have to reach under a car, or laying over a fender so I don’t scratch the paint with my belt or something. I love my magnetic tool trays, but I’ve also used magnetic mats, because their cheap and much larger. Since I use reading glasses, I have the flip up kind, that double as safety glasses. Finally, someone gave me a baseball style cap that has built in LED lights and holy crap it’s awesome. No more holding a penlight in my teeth. Anyways. Just a thought.

milwaukee is my go to brand when it comes to battery powered tools. at work we have the largest impact driver milwaukee delivers, that thing is heavy AF but it removes any nut or bolt you point it at. we once had to remove a seized lugnut on our rear tractor wheel, it took 5-10 minutes to fully unscrew that nut and the battery was still half full when it finally got it off, RIP threads :')

Humble! I service and maintain my own cars have found the top end M18 Fuel 1/2 impact wrench the biggest and best tool investment I have ever made. I have a Vauxhall Tigra B (project car) and using that tool I was able to completely strip down the whole worn out front suspension and replace literally everything in about 1.5 hours. It made stripping out track control arms a breeze. This impact wrench is angry. It rips through some big old bolts with ease and frankly, saved a lot of time and some knuckle skin. Before that job I wasn't so sure spending over £400 on an impact wrench was a good idea but now it has given me the confidence to go out and buy classic cars and build some new projects. 3 Year warranty too... I really rate Milwakee's high-end hardcore stuff!

Great review overall! But torque as pound-feet instead of Nm and mass as ounces instead of kg really makes it hard to understand without using a calculator all the time. I would love to see you using metric units, at 03:50 you even used Nm as torque, but then continued with pound-feet. Besides that your video was very informative and concise, good job!

I agree with you on pick up the 2Ah batteries. The big battery packs are great if you're drilling a lot of large holes with a drill, but I really don't think they're necessary with a 1/4" impact. I know with my (non-Milwaukee) big cordless drill with a 1 1/2" paddle bit, I can kill a 2Ah battery in a few minutes and with my 3/8" cordless impact, the same battery lasts all day of regular use or a few hours of constant use.

Hey Charles! I would love to get a drill and impact! I just moved into an apartment at my college about a month ago. Week one was interesting...someone backing out next to my car in the parking lot ripped the bumper off my car. So instead of fixing the bumper I bought a light weight flywheel and metal slave cylinder for my B6 S4. It has really been a case of ballin on a budget with my story. Originally bought it for just over $2k and been dumping money into it ever since! Pulled the engine and did the timing chain job myself. Love the videos and the quality of your content. I'd throw my hat in for an tech school graduate or apprentice though. Them young boys need all the help they can get with tools. If I see someone has serious drive and passion that I know is just getting started out I give him my old tools or take very little money. It's nice seeing new younger guys doing it. I feel as if that numbers falling to sadly... On a more AWESOME note! I just bought the new snapon thermal imaging camera. I'm from Europe so Milwaukee's are a little more expensive down here and are a little out of my reach just for working around the house and car. Would love to have some, maybe one day :)

This is almost exactly what I have been looking for...this particular kit is bit (no pun intended) out of my price range and I've been trying to decide between just going impact or drill.

Let me share with you a good website, batterynice.com/, where you can buy batteries for power tools with great performance. They have warehouses in the United States, Germany, the United Kingdom, and Australia. It is worth visiting

I would love to use the little impact gun. I borrowed a dewalt impact for a little bit and it really is a nice thing to just run down nuts and bolts really fast. Taking off exhaust with an impact helps a lot too.
