Amazing quality. The new designed head grabs screws better then any bit I've used. The first one I opened I'm still using and have put provably 5000 screws through it. Still working great

THe thinner part is specially for impact drivers to make up for not having a clutch. They catch a bit of the energy when you tighten something down, otherwise it would just snap

+FoodOnCrack For 3 years, I have worked on aircraft removing and installing panels, and I can tell you from first hand experience that not all drill bits are created equal. Almost all the screws we used were Phillips #2. Also, our hardware is FAA-PMA approved, so the hardware quality is not a problem. When our company decided to move entirely to cheap consumables (masking tape that would ONLY stick to the sticky side of another piece, Batteries that might last one hour, if lucky, etc.) and the screw bits started stripping out screws extremely quickly, no matter the condition of the screws beforehand, or how much pressure we put on the system. They eventually got the message and started buying decent consumables again... But my point stands. A bad quality screw bit is going to give you a massive headache, especially if you have to use impact style drivers on stuck screws.

Thus ALL Phillips bits should cam-out if designed to the original Phillips criteria. In any case, The Shockwave feature is not relevant to cam-out or other drive interface issues. It's about the design of the metallurgy used in the manufacture of these bits to allow them to absorb shock by rotational force (torque) and not shatter as more brittle drive bits may.
