Milwaukee Tool Changed My Mind after a visit to their both a world of concrete! We met with product managers for the Mx Fuel and M18 platform of tools. We believe these product managers were aware of our previous history of reviewing Milwaukee Tools, and sometimes we can be critical of the company! During the many demonstrations of the MX fuel HANDHELD CORE DRILL KIT W/ STAND
(MXF301-2CXS) especially, things got quite interesting to say the least! A second product manager was then brought in to walk us through some of their M18 tools! After the visit to booth at World of Concrete I can honestly say that Milwaukee Tool has changed my mind!

The biggest differences of the framing nailers to me are the nails them selves. I prefer the 21 degree over the 30 degree because the 21 degree has more holding power. They are thicker, stronger, and have a full head centered on the shank just like real hand drive framing nails. Another advantage that i've found is that if you ever are in need to remove the nail, the head does not break off like the off set heads do frequently.

I couldn’t agree with you more, 21° is all I use or want.
@vincentking8874

You can get full head nails for the 30 degree. Like the guy said it’s just regional nails are the same, you are probably in an area that doesn’t have much to offer in30 degree, whereas where I come from doesn’t stock the 21’s as much so we all think 30 degree is superior and has more options.

@@vincentking8874 I understand that the 30° nails do come in "full head" but from what i've used and seen they are off set from the shank, leaving one side of the shank with no holding edge. The only advantage i see from a 30° is accessibility due to the angle of magazine and higher nail capacity.

Paper collated nailes have glue holding them together with paper, that glue makes the naile really hard to pull. You can pull the plastic collated easily and studies have been done that there is actually no difference between paper and plastic. Oh and plastic collated fall apart in the cold. Huge advantages to using Paper collated nails. Edit:words

oh trust me, you learn the first time that using a grinder to core through concrete is a bad idea... then you go out and get a proper core drill so you never have to do that again... it wasnt a fun way to learn that lesson

@VCG Construction, Mister Brian you failed to mention the difference between 21 and 30 degree Nailers!!! 30degree's .113 - .131 diameter and 21 degree's .113 - .148 diameter!!! And if an Engineer for engineered LVL etc. (or your going to have to use large nuts and bolts to fasten in a certain pattern , if its called out on the drawing(s)) if it calls for a heaver gauge such as a .148 diameter nail and you only have a 30 degree nailer you will have to buy another gun being a 21 degree and there are more nails for 21 degree's for that !!! But hopefully there are no ballbusters inspectors out there, ha ha ha!!!

Difference in degrees is based on code for the region. Whether you're allowed to build with clipped head nails or not. Clip head nails come in 30 degree option.

the 21 degree nailer says on the box and the website that you can use nails with a larger shank diameter ( which is required by code in some applications/ geographical locations ) and full round centered heads. the 30 degree can't accepts nails with as large shank diameters but they might be able to accept full round centered headed nails.

Doesn’t 30degree nails have half of head on them and 21degree has full round heads? And some state code requires nails with full heads..Or am I wrong?

Why did they go with mx platform on a core drill? A 9" angle grinder, corded version is 15 amps or more and they have m18 version of that. But their own corded core drill uses only 12 amps! Erope model number DD 2-160 XE. So why did they use mx platform? I really would like a cordless core drill like that, but can't justify to invest in another platform. I dont care its 4x the price of corded model, i can't afford carying another huge battery and a humungous charger just for the drill!
