As a commercial painter in the trades I prefer the dewalt one. lumens matter. the better I can see the better paint job. the hight makes a difference too. I cast less of a shadow when painting behind the a taller light stand. Also the AC plug is not deal breaker for me most sites I am on finding power can be a problematic especially when other trades are needing power.

Milwaukee only because of the AC adaptor. +/- 500 lumin up at 2,500-3,000 really isn't a deal breaker. They both had a good flood of light, they both appeared to be the same color of light. Nice review bud!

I want a dewalt 360 like the new milwaukee. With 6000 lumens minimum. AC is needed too and a integrated charger would just Awesome!

I owned both of these and the dewalt is MUCH brighter and throws a MUCH larger area of light. You can set the dewalt on medium and compare it to the milwaukee on high. Saying that, the m12 rocket light is what I use 99% of the time cause I can carry two with very little effort. (I own 3 of em)

Great video I am going with dewalt since I have a lot of dewalt batteries and non of Milwaukee even know they make really good quality tools. Also dewalt has more lumens as describe on your test. Thanks!

I agree, people don't buy the lights to run them on medium or low setting. I'd like to see the DeWalt light get more run time. Are you liking that new work table?

Milwaukee longer run time and AC adapter no brainer 😊 But Milwaukee have higher end tower light models ie the Milwaukee 2136 is 6000 luminance not mentioned on this video that will wipe the floor with the dewalt in terms of brightness charging ability for your batteries and run time. Milwaukee ❤

Personally I think the Milwaukee rocket light with the ac adapter and charger is great but the cost says no to me. The ones you tested here I think the dewalt that’s what I have. There’s a guy in the uk making a ac adapter for me as I write so looking forward to getting that.

Both are great lights. The Milwaukee has a better run time but you lose some lumens. If you want the best run time go for Milwaukee. If you want the brightest go Dewalt. I prefer the dewalt on job sites. I do like the 12v tower light from Milwaukee also. not as bright but more compact making it a plus for the fast set and use. Now toss in Mikita with their new offerings and you have a new leader in brightness and mobility but lose the stand unless you spend the extra for a stand.

As an owner of $3k + dewalt tools, I agree Dewalt dropped the ball by not having an AC plug in adapter. We do alot of skimming, texturing and painting ceilings and the extra 6 inches is important to us as we would like the light shining as close to parallel to the ceiling as possible to see any flaws in the topping mud and paint. This is especially true when working with level 5 drywall finish while all the windows are masked and the ceiling lights are removed or dropped. Light shining up towards the ceiling from the floor blinds us and prevents us from seeing everything. With all that being said, the tripod dewalt lights works good enough for us given that we have 15 + batteries. The 9 and 12 amp batteries usually last long enough. I'm curious, when you did your run-time test, were your 5AH batteries new or old? Obviously newer batteries have a bit more juice. Also the older dewalt batteries had weaker battery cells. Thanks for the review.

I have the 12 volt tower Milwaukee, got it for $80 in November on clearance at HD. Should have picked up two. 12 volt tower is great but run time is weak so I use AC option frequently. Picked up 18 volt today with 8ah battery for $200. Not as bright as expected for the bulk. Can’t beat the price.

Thanks for the great review. I was on the fence until I watched your review. As you said, the turning point was the AC option for the Milwaukee. I was buying the Dewalt for $170 during sale last month at HD then I saw your review and the light and battery for Milwaukee add and that was the end of the story. Thanks again.

DeWalt NEEDS to be honest/precise & specific about their products, like what’s the reason for them behind not giving the Lumens on low and medium settings for this light?? and it’s not just this product, in fact MANY of their tools have some mysterious torque measurement units.. their hammer drills for example, instead of measuring the torque with “Inch-Pounds” which’s the standard unit of measurements for “ hammer drills & impact drivers” they go with a WEIRD unit THEY INVENTED, “UWO” ! and in case you wonder what’s that, it stands for Unit-Watts-Out. Lol

Dewalt tools are always better built check out the 9in cut off saw the Milwaukee feels like a toy the DeWalt feels like a professional tool, the chainsaw and rear handle saw the dewalt is way better built
