I am sorry but I was a kid when I noticed and nobody listens to a kid even if they are right, so. Yes, I have known that something was indeed happening, as it was noticeable by the very few interviews that during a certain time could be found, how he moved there and how he acted in his body movements and language, but I tell you that was was difficult as fudge to try to analyze, its her personality, some personalities are like fudge it I can't read anything, so that's my other defense.

@@moniqueh7948 Aren't you aware she admitted to hitting him in the audio and throwing things at him? Her biggest complaint on those audio tapes was that he runs away from every single fight, sometimes even when she just raises her voice a little. He says there can be no physical violence on the tapes, and she says in answer to that she can't promise she won't get physical again. Sometimes, she said, she gets so mad she loses it. She called him a used-up actor, and many other names. I think it's pretty clear that she was the abuser. She was arrested at an airport in 2009 for hitting her wife at the time, so she has a history of abuse.

I remember when I first heard of the Minamata Disaster. Those photographs of the deformed children were so heartbreaking. They ran in LIFE magazine and others. Wow. This brings it all back. I didn't even RECOGNIZE Johnny Depp when this trailer was playing. That's how amazing and immersive he is in his various roles.

Just saw this movie last night, it's a very emotionally powerful movie. It's incredibly important that the story of what happened to the people of Minamata is told for the sake of the victims & their families, & if you're in the UK & have amazon prime then I highly recommend this movie.

I apologize for my poor English. After watching this film, I hope you will visit Minamata. It is now one of the cleanest and most beautiful cities in Japan. The garbage is disposed of in 23 different ways, the sea is clean, and the seafood is safe and delicious. They have restored the beauty of Minamata by themselves.

Just watched the movie last night! The entire cast was amazing! I truly got lost in it all! Johnny Depp is an extraordinary actor and person! I’m such a JD fan now and am watching ALL his movies! This character was spot on! Congratulations to all!

Yea all the replies about the almost diminutive title "Oscar Nominee" are dead-on -- personal life aside, Depp delivers the goods and sometimes dives deeper than he should -- let this be the Oscar winning role and lose the nominee.
