Filmmaker Lee Isaac Chung, Steven Yeun, and crew discuss two scenes in Minari in which Jacob (Yeun) settles his family into their new family farm. Amidst the instability and challenges of this new life in the rugged Ozarks, the family works together to make a house into their home.

My opinion: the acting is what got this film nominated for Best Picture. If there was an Oscar awarded for best under 18 year old, the lad who played David would win it. Loved all the performances, but young David is the reason you're emotionally invested in the film.

Omg you know the thing with calendar paper, my parents and I are Albanian immigrants when I was little till now my mum she does the same thing in the draws but it will be with gazette or other thin paper ... again Idk if it’s a tradition and I no idea why the do it

The calendar is to absorb excess moisture to protect the wood. And the bottom clothes or whatever you put on it will not stick to the wood

Thank you for making a good movie and I made a personal review video. I think the movie will be more memorable to me because my grandmother died while I making the video.. Like director Lee Isaac Chung, I think I will remember my grandmother through the name 'Minari' in the future...

well I am excited so much as a Korean, but Minari is not a Korean movie at all. It is a very American film. And also Parasite itself counts for 4 oscars from the categories :)

@@kassiogomes8498 Firstly because of the Lucasfilm fiasco of firing their best lead woman, and then more importantly they've set out rules prohibit eligibility for Best Picture based on Race and Gender. The Oscars are now overtly promoting Sexism and Bigotry.

@@budthecyborg4575 The Academy has nothing to do with Lucasfilm. And did you read the rules? I don't think so. Because the rules don't change almost anything at all. Read them, then get back with what part did you though was sexist.

@@kassiogomes8498 Yes I was just looking over the rules posted on the Oscars website. Apply the same standards to movies made in China or India and everyone would say this is an absolutely terrible. Forcing people to create roles based on race or gender can only make movies worse.

Read again and pay attention, you are spreading fake information. Most of the big studios already follow these new rules for some time, the big impact of the rules are in the internship programs and marketing jobs at the distribution companies and production companies. If you aren't able of understanding a simple document made by The Academy of Motion Pictures I don't know what to tell you.
