Minato Namikazi has been a fan favorite for about as long as he has existed. He was everything Naruto wanted to be. He also seemed to be an improvement of Naruto, maintaining his funny and dopey nature, while also adding in a lot more responsibility and control. Not too long ago, the spin-off for Minato that we were promised after the Narutop99 poll released. Today we’re going to review the chapter and see if it was everything we were waiting for, what it means for Minato as a character, and what it means for the series as a whole. hol'up, kushina had whole LESSONS by anbu on teaching her about the uzumaki clan techniques and had a protective barrier around her. Meanwhile naruto had no lessons, was put in a shitty studio apartment, and didn't even know his clan existed until he was 16 and about to master kurama's chakra. Mind you kushina and naruto were taken care of by the same hokage. This is a new low for hiruzen.

They are completely different seals kushinas was way weaker hence why it broke when she ran away (also gets insanely weaker with emotion) and yes the sealing ninjutsu training is with minato

For a One-shot around Minato, this Chapter had more focus on Kurama and Kushina, which explains our considering Kishimoto wanted do a story around the Nine Tails.

I do think it sucks that he was only in it 1/3 of the chapter. Whenever he was there, it was more the Jutsu than himself. So, I guess he’ll just be “some guy who’s strong” from now till forever. But, this chapter was enjoyable. I am a fan of Kushina and seeing her Nine Tails form was something I always pondered.

@@quintbakerjr2786 this is supposed to be a one shot manga. But...if the positive feed back is great enough, we might get more Minato/Kushina content. Uzamaki clan content too. So keep your hopes up.

she probably got taught it but probably like kakashi where he has it but never uses it due to having better techniques for situations. like kushina would have better odds using the adamante chains than rasengan to be fair and kakashi chidori

Could you guys do a what if on if Yagura was never put under Genjutsu to form the blood mist village, and lived? That would be cool too see his significance later on in the series.

That would probably be very hard because we have very little information about the mist overall but yeah it's a cool idea

I agree. This was REALLY GOOD! Kishimoto really did a great job with this one shot. Knowing how Minato got the Rasengan name and everything. It was great. HOWEVER....it could have been WAY better. I was hoping we get more details on Minato's backstory. His childhood, clan, the relationship with his parents, his childhood friends and so on. I felt like Kishimoto could have squeeze all that in. As much as I did enjoy the relationship between Minato and Kushina and Jiraiya. I think he could still cut all that out. Show us Minato's childhood and then give us a time jump where Minato and Jiraiya are learning the Rasengan and thinking for a name for it. I don't know. Maybe because since it was a One-Shot Manga, I'm guessing Kishimoto couldn't do all that in one chapter. Again, this was still a great One-Shot! Hopefully Studio Pierrot will animate this One-Shot before going back to Boruto.

It wasn't worth it in my view. While the manga itself wasn't bad this would have been better if it was a different character. Nothing new was revealed about Minato in this manga, if anything this manga proves that Kushina should of had her own manga because she was the MVP of this chapter. This manga proves that Kushina and the Uzumaki need their own one shot mangas. Minato is a good character but he had plenty of focus and screen time in the main story. Characters like Kushina, Shisui or Jiraiya would have been more worthwhile but it is what it is 🤷🏿‍♂️

Yes, it was. This manga was... well, better than boruto!(not a very high bar to reach, to be fair😅) also minatos the clash with karama was some of the coolest stuff in the Naruto series ever!😂 also I was the ACTUAL FIRST

I don't get what the hype is about. I mean we saw Naruto & Boruto master the rasengan and they were both younger than him. the creation of the rasengan was also well explained in the Naruto manga. for me this manga was a letdown, because I expected to see something new like Minato mastering his flying Raijin step three. or creating a new jutsu using his lightning chakra nature and at last get to know his family background and so on. I enjoyed seeing Kishimoto's art back in action but for me, the chapter was not worth it.

Did Kushina have a different seal? The reason it wasn’t one and done is because she had a weaker seal. In every jutsu that Hashirama attempted he was in a class by himself.

Oh, i see this explained why Naruto is free to move around without sealing mark around his house because the mark on his belly was upgraded, perfected by non-other than his parents plus it was just half of kurama.

So their is only two information we get from minato manga is that when the uzumakai dead out and nowing minato seeing a tial beast bom or see a tial beast that inspired him to create the rasengan

The thing that makes it special is that minato was an outsider to that type of sealing technique and he did it like it was nothing special at all. His understanding is abnormal and far surpasses that of other people learning sealing techniques to the point that Minato creates new variations which is somewhat unherd of in that category i would think based on how kurama reacted to it.

I love Minato. Like you mentioned I was hoping they would go more into his childhood. I’ve always wondered what happened to his parents or if he had siblings. Watching Naruto my biggest question was why didn’t he have grandparents that helped raise him. We know with his mother’s family they were gone but what about the dads. I enjoyed this one chapter story nonetheless.

I loved the one-shot! Yeah, it was more about Kushina than Minato, but I didn't mind because I do feel like it would have been kind of hard to have anything about Minato without Kushina being involved. And yes, I too am a hopeless romantic. Which is why I noted that Minato said he LOVED Kushina, not that he simply just liked her 🥰 Also, I know Minato and Kushina look too old for this, but wouldn't this have taken place early on in the 2nd Shinobi War, since Tsunade is still in the village? Not the 3rd War? This had to have been before Dan died if Tsunade was still practicing medical ninjutsu and was still within Konoha.

I would argue that your analysis of how good Orochimaru and Jiraiyas sealing jutsu is incomplete. First they had plenty of time to learn about it and secondly you need to remember that only half of Kuramas chakra is sealed inside Naruto compared to the full chakra that is sealed within Kushina.

Came here to say this + the fact that the seal put on Naruto is much stronger than the one on Kushina. It's not far fetched to assume a stronger seal is easier to maintain, especially when there's only half a Kurama in there (as you mentioned).

at last he compared the sealing jutsu I just want to tell that the kurama under naruto was only half kurama as half was taken by minato himself. So orochimaru and jiraiya both were seaaling half kurama and another point as you were comparing them by saying minato had to constantly put his hand to seal, I just want to remainder you that it was Minato himself that sealed kurama into naruto which last all those years even after minato died and naruto didnot even had to be in spiral as kushina and mito had..
