Everything about this song is perfect. I think the first time I heard it I was high as a kite and I remember thinking that I’d never hear anything as good as this ever again. Adrian’s solo is stupid good.

Iron Maiden's 1988 release 'Seventh Son Of A Seventh Son' was one of the very first concept albums I ever heard. I was 13 when it came out, and I immediately fell in love with the idea of a story being told throughout an entire album. It was, also, the first Iron Maiden material I had ever listened to. Afterwards, I was so impressdd by the band's songwriting prowess that I picked up their whole back catalog as soon as was possible. In those days the closest place to buy any metal music was at the nearest mall (which was about a 120 mile round trip from where I lived) 🤘 Edit: Iron Maiden's artwork has always been some of the best in the business, as far as I'm concerned. The 'Somewhere In Time' album cover is an absolute masterpiece, and it contains numerous hidden references...it's still one of my favorite pieces to this day. Derek Riggs was, and is, a brilliant artist with mind bending talent 🤘

I grew up on this album in the late 80's and it blew me away at the time and in my 40's it has the same effect. I love watching it blow away young chaps like this as it reminds me of how i felt many years ago. Lots of musical gold to be had in the years gone by - i feel its better than whats on offer nowadays so keep digging brother!

You're listening to some well-selected tracks, but if you want to deviate to a slightly different Maiden sound then give the A Matter of Life and Death album a try. Their best IMO, followed by Powerslave. A few tracks to consider on AMOLAD -- Brighter Than a Thousand Suns, Longest Day, Lord of Light, The Legacy. But they're all good. Not a weak track on the album.
