Mind-Blowing NASA 3D Printed Mars Home Revealed! #shorts
On June 25, 2023, four volunteers entered a simulated Martian habitat from which they will not emerge for more than a year. Their mission: to learn more about the logistics - and human psychology - of living on another planet for an extended period of time without ever leaving the ground.
The mission is called CHAPEA (Crew Health and Performance Exploration Analog), and it is the first of three planned simulations between now and 2026 that will teach scientists more about what it takes to succeed in long-duration human spaceflight.
The CHAPEA mission is headquartered at NASA's Johnson Space Center in Houston, Texas. The Mars Dune Alpha habitat is a 1700 square-foot 3D-printed living space where the crew will live, work, exercise, sleep, and conduct experiments.
