You're actually creating a saw out of your sine and filter the harmonics, so it sounds more like a sine wave again. Why not just use a saw with LP in the first place?

Nice video homies. I really liked the explanation on this one. Was very detailed and gave me a solid understanding of why to make certain creative decisions and options for various other results. Haven’t seen a video like this one. I’m definitely making these changes to my sub from now on.

Add another oscillator with different harmonics manually drawn in…?
@dedrxbbit75493 жыл бұрын
You had me *until you put a compressor on your sub……..* You don’t wanna do that! Trust me! Throw an Oscilloscope on there after your EQ and take a look at what happens to your sub before and after compression (not just OTT, even tho it’s the worst). It puts your sub out of phase! Uk what that means? *Weak sub frequencies in your track* and you’ll be futzing around with a bunch of other shit to make this weak bass *seem* heavy. Trust me, if you stick to saturation and EQ, you’ll be just fine. If you have to, pick an EQ that will allow you to track the pitch. A great option would be Vital instead of Serum. You can slap the native EQ right on there, give yourself a little peak filter, turn on the key track (right knob - don’t remember if it’s negative or positive you want), then adjust the frequency to wherever you want. _BAM!_

A lot of people do stuff like this lol. Kinda gatekeepy to say things like that tbh. If i make a tutorial that i got the idea from someone I always speak on it (XLNT has also mentioned names too obviously) but believe it or not some people come up with their own stuff that others may have come across before. It’s literally just superpositioning of waves if you want to get into it deep to add harmonic colors onto the fundamental note. It’s pretty much what the whole FM8 synth does.
