It’s a balzers coating. It’s available to every manufacturer and at least 6 offer it as a standard. It’s good, but maybe 5-10% better than AlCrN. Not a game changer. The marketing of this channel is so over the top though. Lol.

If your going to do a comparison, at least make it fair. The tool geometry is not the same for both tool. One is tapered, while the main one shown is a straight shank ball end mill.

I love the color of AlTiN coated inserts or even regular carbide end mills before they've been touched. I want a car painted that particular color one day (reg carbides im not a pimp enough for a gold car)

Something that ive had to think about, and i dont think anyone has said, is the coating supposed to keep the heat away from the base metal so it will keep its edge longer? I haven't heard anyone mention why it works but with the lowes store drill bits and the oscillating blades ive seen them hold up longer if coated with the titanium than the non-coated

Lol I don’t think that’s brand new,I’ve seen those tools with coating on them at work alllll the time. And even some that have a black or gray coating.
