Someone's probably beat me to it but the line "eating seeds is a past time activity" Is actually somewhat true in the poorer parts of Armenia where the band are from. Lack of tv and much else to do means eating sunflower seeds on a couch is about as good as life gets for the impoverished.

It's also a reference to heroin, which is derived from poppy seeds. It's a social problem in many large cities, but the people in charge tend to prefer treating addicts like criminals instead of addressing the source of the problem. Also, regulation changes in the late 90s made it easier to get prescriptions for opioid pain medication, which laid the groundwork for the current opioid crisis in America, though it wasn't until the 2010s that we started to realize just how widespread the problem had become. So it's far more likely that SOAD were discussing the overpolicing of poor neighbourhoods rather than predicting the consequences of lax drug regulations.

@@Arc5Gaming Definitely depends on the band, and how its performed. And you can see that by the hundreds of comments saying the same thing as me. Every SOAD reaction video he put out has the comment section filled with people saying their studio versions need to be heard before their live performances because they differ so greatly, and the general consensus is that the studio versions are better. By far. Going to a show is a different experience than listening to and watching a recording of the show.

Man and you being impressed with it live is great too because their biggest strength (other than pure chaos lol) is the melodies the singers make together. sadly often that doesn't come through as well with live (as is often the case). in exchange you get extra bits of their energy so it balances but listen to the studio versions of this stuff its nuts.

I lived in LA for a hot second right after I turned 18 and I was friends with a band who had an Armenian guitarist. He and the band were invited to an Armenian benefit show, and Serj Tankian was also there playing the show. I was lucky enough to tag along to this show, helping with equipment, and as I was hanging out backstage in the wings, Serj walks right in front of me and I stopped him and said "Hey Serj! I just wanted to shake your hand and say that you're an awesome person." And he shook my hand and smiled, said "Thanks, man," and then walked out on stage and killed the show. These guys are absolute legends and deserve all the accolades for their musical genius.

I am a bit late to the party on your reaction vids, but I've really been enjoying them. I remember when this album was new, and going back I appreciate it even more. Even if you can't do a reaction I really hope you get a chance to listen to the entire album as a single entity - it's beautifully put together, and as a whole, possibly one of the most well-produced albums ever. I think you'll be really happy you did.

@@TheComicBookJoker lol my memory fogs between late 80s and early 90s .. with that era where we had the first rock movement since the last one in the 70s. I wish we would have another big movement. Hip hop is okay. Too bad Pop Smoke got killed, he was on the move with something. I like Lana Del Rey a lot and a few other artists but there's no explosion like the late 80s early 90s. RHCP was there but didn't hit it big till BSSM album. And then there was the explosion of rap, the fusion of so many genres like Sublime and the creation of SKA there was a lot of variety like there was late 60s early 70s. Most music has the same genre now rooted in hip hop. And I like some hip hop, but it's a lot like disco, pulled from the early roots of funk like James Brown, Sly and the Family Stone, George Clinton, Herbie Hancock, etc, etc ..
