I wasn't sure if this was totally true when i posted it but now im like almost completely sure it is the original sample. The nostalgia critic link is a reupload of a 2008 video, meaning it was posted before Maretu's Mind Brand was released. If you put the song's "welcome to the mind brand!1!1" on one ear and then the nostalgia critics on the other, you can see it lines up perfectly, and if you pitch down the song's you can basically hear his voice.

I happened to hear Mind Brand for the first time while I was in a phase of binge-watching nostalgia critic. I recognized it instantly, but I had no way to confirm it and nobody to talk about it with. I wondered if it was a coincidence and I was the only one who made this connection. Watching this video and reading the comments is weirdly validating.

I met Nostalgia Critic in a Chicago con in 2017 before and I told him about his voiceline being in the song. When I told him it was pitched up someone said that's even worse. I tried showing him the song but the con was very loud.

This means that without Tom and Jerry, we would not have the awful movie which means that we would not have this movie review which means that the song Mind brand probably wouldn't have existed without it. The audio and the tone of the voice matches up perfectly with the actual sound from the song. With minor tweaks to the sound, pitching n’ all that it pretty much lines up perfectly. This was an impressive discovery I didn’t know about!

@@nuIlsky You'll be surprise how not so hard it actually is to pitch up/down and edit a voice to sound like the opposite gender (though depending on the way the person speaks can be a bit tedious from tone of voice but just a lol extra work) though I suppose it is indeed really impressive they did it quite a while back. Also not all of the "welcome to the mind fuck" samples in that song are the same, specifically the end one where there's a different sounding way that sentence is said, which I don't think is his voice and rather an actual female voice.
