On my journey to healing my relationship with food, health and my body, I’ve tried just about every diet, way of eating and “approach” to health. I’ve found that sometimes the food matters as much as we think it does, and sometimes it does not. At the end of the day, what is really important is how you FEEL. So don’t eat more of these or less of these foods because they are on the list-instead, listen to the best expert of you-YOU! If you struggle with anxiety or depression, and you eat a lot of these foods-it might be worth taking a look at. Or it might be worth adding in some of the ones rich in antioxidant goodness. At the end of the day, don’t set any hard and fast “rules.” You do YOU! Sending you much love.

No one "struggles with anxiety or depression" but millions of people have mental health conditions like Panic Disorder, Bipolar Disorder and Major Depressive Disorder which require medical treatment. Some foods can ameliorate mild symptoms but mostly mental health conditions are treated with medicine and evidence based psychotherapies.

Fleur Bandito my doctor and therapist would beg to differ. I’m not sure what your goal here is, but invalidating people who suffer from anxiety and depression isn’t the way to go about it.

@@FleurPillager Struggling with anxiety and depression is real. I was diagnosed with only anxiety and depression by my mental health professional. Yes I take medicine for it but medicine can only do so much. After watching this video I will be asking my doctor if changeling my diet would help with my anxiety and depression along with my medication I take. Medicine will only subsidies the symptoms. My anxiety and depression will pop up in my day to day life with taken medication only. So if eating more foods that she explain in the video will help while im taking my medication then you better believe ill be changing my diet.

@@jennifermyers2519 Anxiety Disorders and Mood Disorders are treated with psychotherapy and medication. Little evidence that food alone is an effective treatment except for mild (sub clinical) symptoms. Diet and exercise are important for everyone's general health but doesn't have anything to do with treating Bipolar Disorder, for example.

@@FleurPillager I didn't say food will treat my anxiety and depression alone. I did however say I will be asking my doctor if eating these foods with my medication will help. I know how important to have my medication the doctor gives me. I also know that food is not a treatment either. But if adding these foods and taking out the foods along with taken my meds daily will help more than just taking my meds then its worth the try.

Cured my depression and anxiety with food years ago. Gave up wheat, white bread this year and felt even better. Eat al the stuff she says. Eat fruit with nuts, avocado or protein to stop sharp spikes in blood sugar. Big spike in blood sugar, mood up, then it crashes and mood in your boots. Aim to keep blood sugar level stable = stable mood.

Depression and anxiety are normal mood states related to life circumstances and don't need curing. Anxiety disorders and mood disorders are medical conditions and require medical treatment. There's no evidence that food alone is an effective treatment for any psychiatric disorder which is why you are using vague terms like "anxiety and depression" instead of naming specific disorders.

@ariannemiska7022
@ariannemiska7022 3 жыл бұрын
Sandy Candy you are very misguided and I hope that no one reads what you wrote and believes it. Depression is an illness and needs to be treated as such. This can mean therapy, medication etc Just like if your broke your leg you would go to the doctor get pain meds and a cast and guidance with what to do and what not to do. As a believer I will definitely be praying during both of these scenarios. I know that God uses professionals to help us and heal us. Ie God didn’t miraculously heal my leg out of the blue but he did equip the doctor to know how to help me and God was able to be a comfort during this time. The same for depression and other mental health issues. What you are perpetuating is that a real and scientifically proven chemo al problem can simply be prayed/wished away if you simply PRAY enough! This is not only false but damaging to hear both from those within and out of the church and could very well produce drastic consequences for those who heed your advice.

I continue to reason: We feel peaceful while walking through a garden full of flowers. Bees love flowers and produce honey that is very healing for us. If watching the flowers gives us peace, the tea of the flowers can give us peace. Flowers can be excellent resources for the treatment of depression. Bees' source of honey should be our source. Just like the creatures that drink water from the same fountain. Bees need flowers. Life cannot exist without bees. Flowers are the life source of bees. Flowers can be our source of life. Just as honey is a source of life for our health.

Do you take them with food or on their own? I've come to realise that if I don't have something when I take my meds (mind you I take meds 3 times a day) I tend to become nauseous, due to just slightly too much acid. I can't take anti acids either, but just adding something to eat or drink that isn't just water, tea or coffee helps a lot. Its what works for me, it might not work for you, but I wish you all the luck trying to figure out what works for you

Thank you so much for this video , I recently found out alcohol contains ethanol found in gasoline and I’ll never look at drinks the same 🥴. Also diary contains too much mucus, I highly recommend transitioning to nut based. 👏🏾❤️

Love the breakdown of foods to consume and foods to avoid. Tyrosine seems to be coming up quite a bit lately as a pretty amazing amino acid. Vital for hormone regulation and production, which may be helpful during certain times of the month... I've switched from coffee to green tea to increase my levels of L-theanine to ease anxiety. :)

So idk if any vegetarians will see this, but basically the omega-3s from non-meat sources (ALA) are less bioactive, meaning your body can’t really process it into the stuff it needs as easily. Animal-derived omega-3s (DHA and EPA) are more bioactive, but as a vegetarian I’m not going to consume them. Some brands now source DHA from engineered algae; they contain genes necessary to produce more animal-like omega-3s. Very expensive but worth it for me.

I've had great improvement in my mood by taking oyster tablets. Eating oysters every day would be ideal but not practical for me so I supplement. I have watched this video several times and changed my diet. I have been eating Chobani yogurt as a snack, but I read the ingredients and it has cane sugar as one of the main ingredients. Will this yogurt continue to cause anxiety attacks?
@MindOverMunch
@MindOverMunch 2 жыл бұрын
I wouldn't directly say that sugar "causes" anxiety attacks, but that in general a high intake of sugar overall can impact our mind/body connection. Some sugar is fine, but I would focus on an overall intake throughout the day and week.

Thanks for the reply, but honestly my anxiety attacks have stopped, because of a video that I saw here on KZfaq. The fear of death was overwhelming in my mind, so I was afraid all of the time, and that is what increased my anxiety.
