The Fission Mailed gee-tar riff is SO 2005/2006/2007, it's not even funny. This whole game just epitomizes the bargain-bin games of the PlayStation 2/Xbox/GameCube-era. Like this shit, and many of the games they play here - especially the movie tie-in games - honestly gets me a touch nostalgic for the era of 2004 through to 2009, the era where streaming wasn't a thing yet but Netflix was still on the massive come-up with their whole model of you making a queue of films to rent online, which they they then mailed to you (I bet most kids today don't even realize that's how it started, hell most adults probably forgot too) and Blockbuster's out-of-touch owners decided it was just a passing fad they could wait out. Which ultimately led to Blockbuster also doing the mail rental thing and trying to claim it was better cuz you could return your rentals and get your rentals from their physical stores too in addition to the mail. And my parents used that service. And the best thing about it for me was that when you used that service, once per month, 🚫would give you a coupon for one free rental, which my parents would give to me so I could rent a game for free - which I'd always keep well past its due date since Blockbuster got rid of late fees too (in hindsight this was all a MASSIVE sign that Blockbuster was literally on the verge of total death). So all that exposition gets me to the point - that thanks to my free rental coupons, 9 year old to 14 year old me got to play SO MANY of the best PS2 games....but also many of the worst. And this game....this epitomizes all the PS2 games that we don't all remember. There's all the classic franchises like GTA and Tony Hawk and Tekken and Sly Cooper and Jak & Daxter and Ratchet & Clank...and then there's the rest. Games like this...

I think the weirdest part of this is the added butlers that the main character has. If I remember correctly, the entirety of what took place in the house emphasized how alone he was, using toys and figurines to model in for friends and companions. Now, suddenly these guys are here. It just seems like a really weird change to make to the original story.

I think the reason the rope failed you that first time was because you fell a bit before grabbing on, so it acted as if you died, ending the mission after the time the death animation would have taken.

I feel like this game was made before the movie came out. The two hamster characters weren't in the original movie (but they were in test trailers) and the giant spiders weren't in the film either. Makes me think the original movie was going to be a little different

I love how there used to be a videogame of literally everything back in the day. Whenever a new movie or show came out there usually would be a video game that would follow. I had this game but my mom took it because she thought I was purposely dying so I could keep killing the spiders (which she thought was too violent), it’s been twelve years but I can guarantee it’s still in the bottom drawer of her dresser lol
