This podcast has changed my life. In my late 30s. Over the last 9 months (since listening to this podcast) I work out 45 minutes for 4 days a week at home with only resistance bands (no weights and cancelled my gym membership). I stopped doing crazy cardio and now just walk alot instead of driving everywhere. Right now I am in the best shape of my life. I am happier than I have ever been and I look awesome (not boasting but the reaction I am getting from women is great). These three men have changed my life profoundly. Also, I have worked out since my late teens and been a gym rat most my life so was not a total newb.

Absolutely agree with these guys ‘ I’m a older guy 67’ I mostly did cardio’ with pushups’ when I retired a couple yrs ago ‘ I stared going to the gym ‘ and lifting weights ‘ with cardio ‘ gradually cut out cardio ‘ other than walking my dogs a couple of miles a day’ and just focused on weight training ‘ mostly doing free weights with dumbbells ‘ I find free weights are better than machines ‘ machines are good for legs and ABS ‘ after few months 3 times a week’ all compound exercises’ I seen a tremendous difference overall ‘ energy levels ‘ thinking more clearly ‘ libido came back back with a vengeance’ so my experience is totally positive’ and can identify completely what you guys are talking about. Great podcast

Very very appreciative for all that these guys have done for myself and my growth as an individual . I’m 24 and have an 19month old son and Sal, Justin, and Adam have been like distant mentors/dads to me! Pretty cool that Adam has a son that’s about the same age and hearing things he’s gone through as an older Dad versus things I’ve done. I’ve definitely taken a lot of advice from all of them and used it towards being a better trainer and a better father to my kiddo. Listen to you guys daily and very grateful I found your guys podcast almost 2 years ago. Wouldn’t be where I’m at without you!!!

As a former NCAA D1 long distance runner I can't agree more with everything you all say with regards to cardio vs. lifting. There's a time and place for both but no doubt repetitive cardio is not the fountain of youth--I lived it and saw it for four years. I feel healthier and look better now than I ever did running 80 miles per week. Additionally I am in medical school and this podcast has been monumental in shifting my paradigm in fitness and how to attack the obesity crisis. Keep up the work guys!

Have always loved the way you guys explain things and share your experiences, but what always hits home, especially in this video, is when you say how clients give you positive feedback due from your programming; as in how their lives are enhanced like gaining old strengths/mobility back especially in the elderly. As a fairly new trainer (still learning!!) with clientele that have given me such feedback, I have to say it’s extremely heartfelt 🙏🏼 Anyways, thank you for such valuable information, as always!!

That was actually one of the best videos I have watched in a long time. I was even thinking of going on testosterone as I am 44 years old now. But after Adam spoke I have definitely ruled that out. There’s no way I want to crash like he did. I have lost 10 kg in 3 months from good diet and training. 105kg down to 95kg. Feeling much better. I think I will buy your maps anabolic program after hearing sal speak. I really think you guys know what your doing. Keep up the great work. Very inspiring.

Guys I understand that the giveaway every podcast is nice and attract a lot of people, myself included (boy coming from a 3rd world earning one of the programs for free is a big deal), but seriously, the results of the giveaway based on the "best" comment is that there will be a LOT of "this is my overcoming story and how I went from x to a fit x because of the show" comments and people won't give a shit about anything else. There is no engaging of the community this way. We need to have discussions in the comment area. We need memes. We need questions and answers, people engaging. Just take a look, pick any previous podcast and scroll down the comments, its very rare to have some with more than 3 replies. I myself asked lots of questions and they simply went unnoticeable because of the vast amount of "trying to win the prize" comments. I don't think this is a healthy scenario specially for the algorithm of youtube No one is scrolling down because no one wants to read that amount of texts trying to win the free giveaway Thank you
@BlessVibez

They do the giveaway so people will comment thinking they will win which will boost the algorithms by getting more comments

@@BlessVibez having a bunch of single comments threads will only make the algorithm think this place is filled with bots and no engaging of the community. The thing that boosts like crazy the algorithm is to have a couple of comments with lots of replies in the form of a discussion

The reason I weight train is because of the mental benefits. I tend to be susceptible to a low grade depression and resistance training makes me feel better. Also, focusing on the process while lifting takes my mind off circumstances I can’t do anything about.

there is a saying that goes "pirates don't realize that the real treasure is the friendships they built in the journey and not the gold" and I think it fits very well with training. Yeah, you spend years trying to reach a body that you want, but look at all the amazing people you met. Look at how you manage to set a goal and accomplish it. Look at how more intoned with your body you are. Look at how you learned to eat healthy. Look at how more agile you are And the most important: look at how happier you are.

As. a teen in the late 80s i couldn't get over negativity towards weights.."it's bad for your heart"," muscle turns to fat if you stop" ,"makes you slow","makes you stiff"," "stunts growth ",..from the spandex cardio craziness to the circuit training mania to spin classes,western yoga to cross fit ,it was either cardio or cardio with weights. There was a stigma against straight set strength training.

Love you guys!! Man, helped me so much this past year. Anyway, ive been really getting into frequent-low intesity training throughout the day. Its so different from what im use to; 3-4 60-90min full body sessions a week. I needed to change up my routine to keep my bod guessing, but also ive been much busier lately and the 90 min has been kinda daunting and harder to keep up. So my question is -- whats the stretching routine for these frequent low intensity work outs? With my usual routine I do 10min dynamic before and static after.

‘Resistance training’ is such a broad, ambiguous term. Can Mind Pump or anyone else out there explain what the conditions are that constitutes resistance training? A specific definition of what you mean. How heavy to lift? How many sets or reps? How often? How long should one workout last? Without properly explaining, I could imagine that there are a fair amount of people who are lifting weak and small volume. Case in point, I was told walking would be beneficial to my health. So I did just that. One or two blocks. Nothing happened. Didn’t get results until I started putting 4+ miles in a walk. Nobody ever said walk X miles or X steps. Now here you guys are giving out the same vague info. At least give a bare minimum.

@tone3560
@tone3560 3 жыл бұрын
When you made the comment "if you do cardio you lose testosterone because your body is telling it to get rid of muscle" You should define "cardio" in this particular context because low intensity cardio (walking) has shown to not hinder muscle growth or performance and burn fat. In regards to the testosterone and walking one could deduce testosterone is not effected.

I’ve been hitting the gym for a year. I’m not seeing much muscle gain, I’m not losing fat and I’m still sexually unappealing to woman (lol but that’s seriously true). However, over the past year I’ve grown to LOVE lifting weights and I’m so much stronger than when I started. I could only curl 20 pounds and I’m up to 85, I couldn’t bench the part more than 15 times and I’m benching 120lb. I’m so proud of myself, I did this for me. I did this so I could live longer and do the things I love to do in life into my older years. Now I’m working on pushing harder and figuring out my diet and the gains will come… I’ll still be sexual kryptonight to women though and that’s okay. I’m trying to learn to love myself a little more.
