You all have been amazing for me! I’m 5’ 11” and over the last 16 months I’ve gone from 257 lbs to 199lbs! More importantly through your diet and exercise advise I’ve done it sustainably for longevity, building muscle and getting leaner! I just finished up Phase I of MAPS Anabolic and I love it! Can’t wait to move on to Phase II next week! MAPS Aesthetic would be a great next step for me!

Its crazy because for the last few years I don't really eat different foods for different meals.. will eat steak or pork with eggs for breakfast, similar meal for dinner... "breakfast foods" are a marketing ploy to get people to buy certain processed foods I think.. Great content guys, keep it up!

So many great points and Sal was bringing the good messages! The importance of protein (although I still think the protein from meat is ideal over plant protein in a cereal.) The shout out to respectful hunters, the importance of grazing animals and the loss of carbon from the soil (thanks to big Ag). Stoicism as a parent and allowing our children to be heard...Good job guys!

I probably can’t handle it, but will consider watching. Thank you for sharing. I want to be informed but have to take it in doses. The animal and farming industry documentaries have about done me in for sorrow. I follow accounts and blogs that portray what’s happening in real time across various industries and captivity issues. Politics and money are deeply connected. It’s a lot to take in. I have worked in state agencies for families and DV shelters; what some people and children go through is heartbreaking.

Hearing you guys talk about the Arby's employee freezing to death reminds me when I used to do temp work and worked prepping airline food. It was fun to work in there and move from refrigerated areas to the giant freezer. Those walk in freezers get to you even if you have the proper clothing and I'm sure she didn't have the right clothing. Even propperly clothed, I only wanted to be in there for no more than 15 minutes because it starts to hurt your sinuses.

I grew up in an agricultural area. My neighbor was an agro acientist who said that a happy animal produced more milk, grew faster, put on weight faster and better and were healthier overall. The "feedlots" were actually quite nice. This was Canada, i am not sure about the US but this has been known for a long time. I think there is a lot of bs out there about the mistreatment of conventiallly raised meat.

Serrano vs. Priest in 1971 kicked off the problems we have now with our school system. The argument was that kids were not at fault as to what neighborhood they were born in, so California had a responsibility to provide equal education to every child. It used to be that your property taxes went directly to the school your child attended if you had children. So California took those property taxes, put them in the general fund instead and started their plan of all schools having equal funding. 1978 prop 13 was introduced as a result of this, people didn't want to fund other kids schooling, they wanted the benifet that came with their elevated income. So school funding was cut around 60% as a result. Schools can still benifet from fund raising and other ways to work around the system to provide that benifet, so that's how the disparity continues. Additionaly because of the cuts, prop 98 was passed to provide at least 40% of the general fund as a floor, but it is often the ceiling. And with several things being pulled out of the general fund before the 40% gets calculated it's often less. I think at this point trying to repeal prop 13 is a non starter, so I don't think the school system gets fixed at this point. On the bright side, if AI is able to deliver on education in the future, maybe the cost to get an education goes down enough that the current funding meets the need. Here's looking forward to technology once again creating more effencencies.

A walk-in refrigerator is about 30 something degrees, a freezer is -0. But any walk-in freezer at a retail establishment should have a safety mechanism on the inside so you can get out and if it doesn’t the family could sue for millions. But at this point it’s not about the money it’s a terrible loss.

Hearing that protein before sugar is healthiest is one of those, "Huh, how interesting," moments followed quickly by the realization that our culture has, for at least hundreds of years (if not longer, I'm not sure), institutionalized sweet desert as a meal course that happens only after the main course.

Just got to the MRI bit in the show 😬 I used to work as an anaesthetic assistant and we had to anaesthetics for MRI's for small children and for ICU patients. The magnetic fields work differently depending on what the metal is. So steel is really strongly affected and is super dangerous, whereas when I was doing my MRI safety training they had a big chunk of aluminum and that you could go into the MRI room and "play" with the magnetic field (obviously when there wasn't a patient in there) and you could move it one direction but the magnetic field wouldn't let you move it in all directions. I hope that person is ok because wow that is so so dangerous having that inside you and going near a strong magnetic field like that! The metals they use for joint replacements will show as a bright shadow on an MRI so they can't see stuff around it, but it wont move it round in a dangerous way

I remember being 12 years old at a concert in Omaha and seeing the four guys on stage playing their instruments and rocking out. They had long hair and rocked the mid-west look. Seeing them bounce about while 30+ years older than me made me wonder what I would be like as an adult, such as whether I would be in good shape, be really manly, have long hair, etc. I think my 12-year-old self would be pretty happy with who I've become. Probably happier than my current 34-year-old self about who I've become. I'm very happy with who I am and what I've accomplished (in a good place and having started an incredible family while maintaining my athleticism and youthful creativity!), but there's still so many ways in which I feel I've fallen behind and have yet to accomplish what I should have already. Which also makes me wonder if I could see my 56-year-old self, would I be happy about what I will become? I sure hope so!
