I love the “multi-media” aspect. It really helps to communicate the concept.

I really enjoyed learning about Conscious Capitalism. The short yet concise video gave me just what I needed to get the gist of Raj's ideas. Appreciate the hard work that went into producing this! Thanks!

He is wrong about businesses not having coercive power. In the age of big data and marketing psychology, they absolutely have and exploit this coercive power. So, although businesses do not force consumers to buy, it is also not true that consumers are making rational choices based on true value. That said, I am all for the next evolution of a system that respects the dignity of all life-systems and their support systems.

well, nice but will it work is the question. i thought about this before i knew it was a thing and will just put some ideas out there 1. to enforce it working with a free market will be to make the governments involvement nothing but a taxing based on the reception of the community on the business giving the initiative to make a more "conscious" business. 2.the government doesn't make any regulations and this is counted with the reception it gets from the public i.e if they aren't paying workers bad conditions there public reception will go down and taxes up what do you think?

it clearly does work! the best part is these companies are very profitable as well as act with a purpose beyond simple economics.

Lol, extreme poverty justification, really? Pretty one-sided, non-problematic approach to an economic system. Ever heard of Critical Management Studies and Social Economy bro'? Not all businesses are profit-maximizers, shareholders-owned/governed. Just saying ...

@@georgandreev293 He didn't. That's the point... Too bad they such new age narrative cloud the broader and fairer understanding of market and privayr actors...

@@georgandreev293 Conscious Capitalism is a bullshit discourse because 1. It mainly focuses on leaders' so called virtues (what about workers' skills and réflexivity). A typical management view. We don't care about how virtuous people are but rather how fair decisions can be. Let's not loose the right unit of analysis here 2. It tends to neglect (or does not even consider) non-profit organizations (and their own legitimacy in tackling socio-political and ecological issues) 3. It neglects one fundamental problem : be them conscious or not, for profit cannot adress the need of insolvent customers. You might argue that they can limit their ROI but those multinational are still accountable to agressive shareholders. Aren't they? More clear my friend? 🤓
