I just discovered your videos today and have loved them so far; this farm tutorial though? An absolute delight. I've watched a lot of farm tutorials and even though they're basic farms, this is the best video I've ever seen. I love that I'm not being blasted with 100 memes or hearing "well you can do it that way but I do it this way if you want to do it another way it might be too technical like not for me but anyway..." throughout the video. I also love the use of smooth stone for the building platform to give a clean, clear visual on block placement, just a spectacular video all around.

New subscriber here. I am so glad I found these tutorials. I am so sick of all of the complicated redstone builds. I can handle hoppers, observers, dispensers, pistons etc but when people start adding in repeaters and this many ticks here that many ticks there I get overwhelmed and give up. At first I didn't care for the lack of talking, but then I realized that it made the instructions much clearer to understand and I had to watch more closely which helped me remember steps better. I know where I am coming for ALL of my tutorials now.

@kellydempsey9868
@kellydempsey9868 2 жыл бұрын
Can you explain further?
@Rilatwoma
@Rilatwoma 2 жыл бұрын
@@kellydempsey9868 Yes! Instead of having a line of hoppers at the bottom of the farm, you can instead place a source block at one end of the line, so that way when you open the trap doors all of the vegetables will still get pushed down to where the hoppers are in this video, but will instead drop down into a trench with flowing water which ends at a single hopper to collect everything. This way if you have no iron farm or iron in abundance, you could save resources by only having to build a single hopper instead of several.

Semi automatic wheat etc farm: the farm is expensive in hoppers. Alternatively you can place 1 hopper in the center, one block deeper, and have water flowing into it. The water sources are then just outside the farm (8 blocks from center). That design is less clean but cheeper.

Great video! I tried out your semi-auto veggie farm but couldn't get it to work all together. @8:55 I placed my water and it all flowed out through the traps. If I place the trap at the adjacent block, it dams the water but the switch won't toggle the traps. So I can get the pieces to work individually, but not together. it may be due to how your placing the water, if you place it on the trapdoor itll waterlog it, but then the water will flow, try not targeting the trapdoor. as to the redstone, remember this is targeting a primarily java audience thus BE may have issues with the design unfortunately.

@jonalanswartzfager4520
@jonalanswartzfager4520 3 жыл бұрын
I have this issue also. To work around this you can use pistons facing upwards one block forward from where the trapdoors would sit. Then dig two blocks down and lay Redstone all across the 13 blocks, then put slabs over the Redstone at the base of the Pistons and connect them to the switch. This works perfectly fine. When you flip the switch the Pistons should extend upwards and you will be able to fill a half block of water 13 across. You will have to adjust the length of the farm to account for this change so instead of eight rows of wheat you would do six.

Hey Blue Nerd!! I just wanted to tell you its been 1 year and 5 months since I started watching your awesome tutorials, for the past year and a half I've been working on a 4 medieval villages. I struggled in the beginning b/c I didn't know how to build by myself. But after watching every single one of your tutorials for 1 year and 5 months, I learned how to build your style by myself !! I've completed 3 whole villages with 2 castles and I just wanted to say thank you because without you inspiration of your videos, I wouldn't know how to build medieval!! I feel proud of myself I was able to build such monstrosity in my own world, Thank you blue nerd, thank you!

i've built most of these in my survival world and they work great, but for any kind of return you need to make them a lot bigger. but this tutorial is so soothing i just had to watch it all again. - the sheep one doesn't use THAT many shears, and you can fill the dispensers by hand if you leave room at the back to get in there. Dye the sheep all 16 colors and run a minecart under for collection and you can have every wool color in ample supply. - you can get by with one observer on the sugarcane/bamboo if you are short of nether quartz i have a three deck, 48 cactus farm and it barely generates enough cactus to run a single autosmelter. by running the cactus into the top of a furnace and the bamboo as fuel you can generate XP without mobs. it is quite useful, but you need a lot of cactus and bamboo

@@YoucantMesurethis Have you tried placing a button on the inside of the glass? Usually, sheep will think of it as a solid block and just walk right in when you lure it with wheat. I had a easier time doing this since I made a rainbow wool farm and had more space to to walk about and shove all my sheep in before separating them all.

I love all these farm designs. I especially like that they are compact and stylish enough I don't have to hide them or struggle to decorate around them. I seen a similar crop farm but it was so big and resource heavy. I will try this design its more my still and more the level of what i need for my world. the only thing i will change is water streams instead of all the hoppers.

For the berry farm, if you place blocks behind the berries the drops wont go to the other side so you wont have to walk all the way around. I like to do two rows of this side by side. You can also infinitely expand it lengthwise which is nice.
