This is why I like to see this as a tale of true survival, where two friends must push themselves and each other to their limits, knowing that if they let their guard slip even for a second, they could be rushed by an unholy amount of people clad in diamond and iron. They can't afford many mistakes, each minute could have been a minute of finding better resources, ambushing the players, or finding vantage points and hiding spots. Sure, it was fun and games to mess with each other in the preparation time and early into the challenge, but they soon realized that this kind of stuff would get them killed for good. And a 2v3 is much easier than a 1v3. 10/10 greatest action-drama film of 2019.
