At 9:20 the only reason he lived was because when he hit the ground there was fire. It made him take damage and stopped the fall damage. Somehow fire saved the video.

For future reference, a wither skull is a 1/40 chance. It’s 2.5% and that can be increased by 1% for each level of looting, meaning you can get it to 5.5% or about a 1/18

When you got flung up from the explosive sword and you didnt take fall damage it was because you landed in fire and you got damaged by the fire and when you get damaged you jump a tiny bit

Blaze rods only drop if they are killed by the player, or a dog owned by the player. (they have to have been hit at least once by you)
