To combat the ghasts, you can use blocks with a resistance of at least 26 since they can't destroy those. An easy block to use for that is cobblestone, in case you hadn't known already. Plus, it's easy to pick out from the rest of the blocks.

you should do the parkour path you did at the beginning and towards the end, but two blocks high to avoid mobs. You should also mine blocks every time you respawn like dream did.

Wow this was uploaded yesterday. Funny how that works.

I definitely think that taking it slow would make this challenge a lot more reasonable. If someone took the time to grind out a whole bunch of cobble in a big square (digging mostly upwards to ease horizontal foot traffic), then make those into slabs for more efficient walking paths, that could help. As well as keeping multiple chests around bed bases filled purely with ground placement materials, so that when people die, they have ample stuff to use to run back. Also walls for mobs, especially around the bed. And since close-combat has a higher risk of death now, taking the time to invest in long-ranged bow&arrow combat may be another direction to take.
