Other method to achieve a similar result would've been to set a witch on fire, they try to drink Fire Res when they're on fire, and if you kill them before they drink it they might drop it.

1.19 trap idea: Cover the ground in leaves, build up really high and jump off, only way they can survive is with haybale or boat as water bucket would go into the leaf and they would still take damage

Fire resistance potion. Normal golden apples. Elytra (though we shouldn't count that because, well, come on). Ender pearls. Fire protection. There might be more counters, including a few that depends on the specific landscape (swimming to the bottom and putting block above/building up to make a platform to stand on/placing a door to stand in, or simply swimming to the shore).
