Rates:
700 shells/h playerless/chunkloaded (can be increased with more snow golems to around 900 shells/h)
1100 shells/h with player afk
Correction: When I mentioned duplicated shulkers always face north that's an error, they are supposed to face SOUTH
(5:25) If your snow golems are dying you have to place a stair against the scaffolding above the lever to close it off
IMPORTANT: After 1.20.4 you have to make the following changes to attain the same level of efficiency • 1.20.5+
In the player afk chamber you can use soul sand with fire above to kill any stray bullets instead of the wall and slab which are unreliable
Player AFK is in addition to snow golem aggro, it does NOT replace snow golems
In 1.19.4+ Paper servers, Shulkers in minecarts cannot teleport through end gateways. Here is a workaround: imgur.com/a/Zkub5CG
(5:25)If the snow golems are not shooting at the shulker they may have been pushed too far to the back. use a piston to push them horizontally against the open trapdoor.
(4:15) Avoid using blocks endermen can pick up as supports for the scaffolding
Do not wear thorns armour when afking at the farm

Some FAQs - The golems are not shooting the shulker/farm not starting. To fix this either push the snow golems against the open trapdoor with a piston or flip the trapdoor around so it's on the north side instead of the south side, again use a piston to push it. - Shulker stuck in the boat area/not ejecting properly. This is either due to the farm being built facing the wrong direction (afk chamber should be on the south side, boats face the north) or the shulker having an inherent rotation that makes it eject incorrectly. To fix the shulker rotation follow the instructions at 12:48 - Getting hit in the AFK chamber? Replace the wall and slab with soul sand and fire above and stand away from the door. Also make sure the scaffolding's support block is not something endermen can pick up. - Can this farm be built in the end? Yes - Does it work on forge/paper/spigot/purpur/etc. Probably but it depends on the configs and plugins of your server. It should work perfectly in fabric or vanilla. - Snow golems dying? I put in 3 different shuckers and they all went strait to top, also they get in the boat and go backwards(south) back onto scaffolding and then get back in the boat and do the same thing over and over. I set up the farm in the right direction and double checked everything do yall have any ideas.

The farm works! The boat will break if you fly around or appear near the top of the farm. The bullets are breaking the boats, so either build a roof of slabs + buttons over the top so the shulkers at the top can't see you or tell your base mates to stay off the top.

Works perfectly for me in 1.20.6. When setting it up, I used 10 snow golems. As a precaution, I placed the stair above the lever as recommended in the pinned post as well as the changes in the video linked in that same post. Additionally, I did use the soul sand plus fire mentioned in the video description. Been running for less than 30 minutes now and I already have over 3 stacks of shells and have not taken a single hit. Getting a shulker out to the area I wanted the farm was a pain, but definitely worth it. Wandering the End for hours collecting minuscule amounts of shells was getting old real fast.

Just a quick update on my observations so far with the farm. Built it, what, like two days ago? I AFK'ed at it for quite a bit of time since then, but to give people an idea, I now have over 40k shulker shells. So many, that I have resorted to storing shells back at my base in shulker boxes in chests because just chests was taking too much room. I have expanded the farm's storage and wired the on/off lever to be reachable from the door to the player AFK spot for ease of use, but this farm is sooooo good. At this point, the volume of shells I have is far beyond what I could ever use, but now I am running it just out of vanity I guess. I could literally construct entire buildings out of shulker boxes if I was so inclined now.

Answering the amazing question before people start asking. This farm WILL NOT work in bedrock edition. If any other tutorial youtuber remakes this farm's tutorial and claims that it works in bedrock, please do not listen to them or follow them. They don't know what they are saying.

I just built this farm in 1.20.6 and i cant thank you guys enough! You guys are visionaries and i super appreciate how you explain the principles behind the farm! I feel like when we as players just follow farm tutorials without knowing what anything does we do ourselves a disservice by not actually learning and we stagnate. Quicktip: Nethee travel may accidentally cause your shulkee to change its internal rotation! Fix it with the boat rotation fix if it keeps not gettjng into the right position despite only travelled via minecart

If golems don't agro the shulker, you can try moving trapdoor above golems from the south side to north side. That worked for me. If you already built the farm, you can replace trapdoor by first pushing golems with piston (replace stair at the golems feet on the north side) from the north side to the chests (remove two stairs to make place for golems and place one piston instead of hopper), then go to the other side from the lever and break the opposite stair so you can place the trapdoor inside. Break and replace trapdoor. Then, with the trapdoor open (positioned vertically), push the golems back to the first place with a piston in the place of the hopper. Pull the lever so golems don't shoot shulker (you can see if now they agro him if they are looking at him) and break all pistons and other temporary blocks and place back all the original blocks. Then you can flick the lever and golems should start firing snowballs.

**IF YOUR BOATS ARE GETTING DESTROYED, READ THIS** VERY IMPORTANT: if you attack the shulkers (Thorns enchantment count as an attack), this will make all shulkers from the top of the farm attack you (instead of the golems) and break the boats, breaking your farm. It's not gonna break instantly, it's gonna break slowly, so make sure to check the top of the farm to see if the boats are still there. this can be fixed placing the boats again, it will be a little painful with all the shulkers there, but it's relatively easy (you will have to clear some of them) OTHER IMPORTANT TIPS: - always keep the door closed, this will prevent shulkers from teleporting to the door (if you forgot the door open and they did teleport, DO NOT attack them, just close the door and they will teleport back to the farm) - if you're using soul sand in the afk area, remember to USE BUTTONS underneath and to the side of the soul sand to prevent teleports - if you're using triple slab in front of you + trapdoor underneath your feet, remember to PUT ONE BUTTON to the side of the triple slab (this didnt work consistently for me, so I recommend the soul sand instead) - DON'T FORGET to put a top stair against the scaffolding above the lever to close it off, this will prevent golem issues (dying/not throwing snowballs) in case you accidentally attack of the shulkers (fixing the boats is much easier than fixing the golems)

Works perfectly, 20 to 30 min build. Tip: make sure to destroy the staircase with rails unless shulkers will spawn there.

Awesome farm, my only suggestion is to extend the AFK chamber with some stairs and slabs (and fill in the space with signs so shulkers cant teleport inside) because otherwise it seems that the shulker bullets can occasionally hit you through the door if you are pressed up against it. Other than that, works perfectly and super simple to build

This is an insanely good quality video. After building the farm it’s EXTREMELY fast. I spent the first couple minutes with the farm OFF (by mistake) and got 9 shulker boxes. When i turned it on it took about 15 to get 2 stacks of shulker shells or something ridiculous. Lmao i dont think ill have to use the farm for a long time after just firing it up once

By far the best Design Out Here and the only one that works anyway😂 i searched a farm For my survival world and after Reading about endless issues with all the Others, i build this. Took me around a hour cause i build everything carefully, brought the shulker in and instantly, it worked. Thank you for the amazing tutorial! Just a fix on the AFK point. If you don`t want to get hit by shulkers, you can replace the wall with 3 slabs and replace the slab above your standing point with a trapdoor. That way, you wont take damage while being afk. :)

Great video as always! Quick question, if I want to build more of these farms to boost the rates, how closely can I tile them? I know shulkers can teleport to a spot within a 17×17×17 cube centered on the shulker. So as long as we leave an 8 block gap between the farms(horizontally and vertically), I should be fine right? I might be really dumb at this but more scaffolding for the shulkers to "climb" yes shulkers within 8 blocks of the duping shulker will reduce the dupe chance. I just went into creative built this then built another half right beside it 8 blocks between duping chambers/chutes. The kill chamber of the second "module" ends up shooting bullets back into the first kill chamber if you turn off 1 side that side holds aggro and the other side shoots the shulkers in that kill chamber. I extended the built up walls but it just meant bullets hitting walls still not going at shulkers to duplicate. Acording to a rays works video shulkers share aggro in a 33x33x33 cube so 16 blocks between before you shouldn't get that targetting of the other kill chamber rather than supercharging the core it's in. It's kind of a case of diminishing returns the guys have come up with a great design that's simple and powerful increasing the size to twice the width you'd get maybe 3 "cores" but it's more complex to do and isn't going to return 3 times the drops. double width and length you might get 9 cores but you're not going to get 9x the drops if you want to do it go nuts but even building the I also swapped out the cobweb for powdered snow and works fine, even put powdered snow in the kill blocks to help kill off shulkers as I noted quite a few bouncing around the top level and leaving shells on the scaffolding but it also reduces the supercharger of all the shulkers at the top shooting down the chute at the shulker to dupe. I'd live with a few shells being lost and more supercharging. rainy day and I was bored just some stuff I tried out hope it helps

Works great, but one thing you haven't mentioned in your desc is when placing the soulsand place a slab button or trapdoor etc underneath.. a shulker was garding my afk spot since the first 2 seconds lol

I had a shulker attach itself to the door of the afk chamber. I removed the door with an axe which forced the mob back into the farm but was wondering if anyone else had this happpen? Must say though, this farm is crazy. just cleaning up the rails that I used to get the first shulker in produced over a stack of shells. you guts are craxy clever

At first the farm not working, i try to resolve the problem, and found that snow golem make some block freeze become ice, so the gollems can't attack the shulker. when i break that freeze ice, gollems start attacking the shulkers, and the farm working as well. I have built this farm on minecraft java version 1.20.4 Moving the shulker was pain, i almost surrender to make this farm, but once the shulker get into the farm, and the farm working, it just like our pain has been paid with lot of shulker shell Thankyou for the tutorial and explanation, great video 👍

I just finished making this farm in my world and its working perfectly. I was wondering even tho im still early in my world, currently at about 600 days, but I want to eventually move this farm into the end and build more to boost the rates, maybe 8. I saw in an earlier comment you said to space them 10 blocks apart? Is that both vertical and horizontal? Also How would you go about doing that and connecting them together for a storage? I'm not the greatest with storage systems. Im also wondering where the best AFK spot would be for multiple farms, or should I just rely on chunkloaders?

hmm wasn't thinking about vertical, but it should work? you can't have the max rate (as you need line of sight) of afk spot, as for passive generation rates, you can be afk anywhere in 128 block radius to all the farms id guess? for storage a line of hoppers with trapdoors on top is the easiest; could probably do with some water that pushes the drops around as well? chunkloaders you can't do in the end (would need to build it in overworld then)

The issue with this farm is that if it's built in the end, enderman can spawn under the platform and pick up the scaffolding at the bottom, breaking the entire farm. The other issue is that after a few hours, shulkers build up under the farm and make it nearly impossible to run the farm or get items from the chests!

Both of these are fixable issues: - Enderman can't actually pick up scaffolding, but if you place the scaffolding on a block they can pick up (dirt, gravel, sand to name a few common ones), then the scaffolding above it will break when they pick up that block. The solution is to place the scaffolding on a block they cant actually pick up. Simply placing it on endstone will work, or just use a block of obsidian to be extra sure the block never gets picked up or broken. - Shulkers building up under the farm means you didn't build it up high enough to begin with. It needs to be minimum 8 blocks from the ground, but since terrain may be uneven I recommend building it even higher, or over the void. I built mine on one of the small end islands over the void and went 20 blocks up just to be extra safe and have no issues with that

For some reason, going near this farm, even without any shulkers in it, makes my game freeze and skip frames a lot. My PC has no trouble running the game, but for some reason this farm does it dirty, any ideas why? Or a fix?

When is bring a shulker to the farm it just teleports up in the boat area/ on top of the hoppers instead of where it should actually be, i play on 1.21. Any solutions?

I've built this farm in my world's end, the rates are excellent! One question I had was could I line the outside with a block such as chests that has no surfaces for the shulkers to cling to? As is, the shulkers on the top layer flip upside down, open into the scaffolding, and shoot in random directions before making to to the boats. I was hoping to have an exterior lining to prevent bullets from escaping the farm and hitting players.

Yes that should work fine - walls or glass panes would probably work best for this, though it may be hard to 100% seal it.

@@EndingCredits I added a glass pane wall around the four sides and that prevented any bullets from getting out!

How come my boats keep breaking? The farm starts to work but then fizzles out as all the shulkers die after they break the boats

I have a question, do i need to turn off the farm when im done afk? do i pull the lever again? or is only intented to turn in on the first time and never touch it again?

You just have to turn the lever off and then after a while the farm will slowly stop. You can unload it at any point

So after building this on my server for some reason the shulker near the collection by the piston and trapdoor that is on constantly (the main one that makes the farm work) keeps disappearing when nobody is on the server for a period of time. Is this a server side issue, spawn chunk issue or something else? I haven't been able to figure this out sadly.

does this still work in 1.21? Just built it on a realms server (java) and the shulker just teleports to the top eventually and doesn't duplicate. I checked the North / South orientation and that's correct. Also I've re-checked the build several times. Thoughts on what else to check?

Finally got to building it, 1.20.4 works perfectly, do get hit occasionally while afk but a regen beacon does the job.

Instead of the wall and slab, use soul sand where the wall would be, and light it on fire. this will guarantee no shulker bullets can hit you, because the soul fire will destroy them. if you do this though, remember to put a button on the outside of the soul sand, and still put a bottom slab roof on it.

transported a shulker from the end but it fell into the void when it went through the end gates, I had to do it all over again and it took like a whole day, but it works 😩

I really can't get it to work and I've tried everything. It still teleports to the scaffolding and not on the slabs like they do in the video and the golems aren't shooting. How can the golems shoot when the shulker is on the top? Do I need more than one shulker? I'm starting to give up :(

Hola, lo que yo hice para que los golems empiezen a disparar y que la granja funcione fue agarrar nuevamente al shulker con una vagoneta y poner un botón al costado del dropper (ya que anteriormente se teletransportaba ahí), luego de eso rompí la vagoneta y funcionó perfectamente después de unos segundos

I built this farm and am having trouble getting the shulker to end up in the bottom of the farm. I moved two. One went to the very top near the boats, the other on the top layer of slabs(thought scaffold didnt let them stay there) . Im running on a Paper server, would anything change? Cant get it working, maybe ill try to build it fresh another day, but currently am tilted.

I had the same problem but my friend destroyed some blocks bellow (we destroyed and placed again piston stuff). Somehow shulker (who was firstly at the top) tpd down and somehow they dupped. Also we think golems are doing nothing cause shulkers are killing themselves or something else is killing them.

Uptade. When I finished writing, there are multiple shulkers but they are no longer dropping shulker shells and the essential shulker at the bottom disappeared so it broke again.

if the shulkers see you or you hit them they will shoot in random directiosn which can break the boats

Help! I repeated the rail getup in the tutorial, but the shulker just teleports away instead of going into the portal. I read that they can be pushed by pistons into the gateway, but they also just teleport. Has their ability to travel to the regular world been nerfed in a very recent update? Or should I surround everything with buttons and force it to teleport above the gateway? (Yes, playing on latest vanilla Java)

They need to have blocks to stand on or they will teleport away. I had to make a line of blocks to push them in.

It's fine, as long as it's within range of the exposed scaffolding it can teleport into the farm

Not sure why but I'm not in a hot biome and all the snow golems but two of them died. I constantly had the farm chunk loaded. Any ideas?

Hi! I'm having issues with my build. I have shulker at the top teleporting around in the boat area, but I'm not getting any others spawning, and they are not going into the slab, and the snow golems are not firing. Can someone give me some tips on what I should check? I'm playing on a realm in 1.20.5

Had this issue too. You need to get the shulkers into a boat. I placed a dirt block on the roof away from center. Placed boat then got in. Turn on bounding boxes, and rotate the boat until the shulker is looking due south. then exit boat, break boat and break dirt. Allow shulker to enter center of the farm and it will be rotated correctly to enter the farm. Emdy and the other designers are helpful in the Discord - recommend joining that to get further help if needed.
