I agree that run was a little hard to watch in the sense of all the bad RNG but props to Illumina to pull through and get under estimate

Yes, so thankful there are live audiences again. So good to have crowd reactions, cheering and the added 'live' pressure of the runs. It makes it, sporty.

I'm still wondering how the hell he did this under an hour despite all the RNG Also noticed they threw in the Gamma story from Sonic Adventure in this recording. Not sure if that was a mistake but *shrugs*

Illumina had a crimson vine in his 4th hotbar slot during the potentially fatal fall damage situation. He could've clutched by placing it down to fall damage cancel.

One block wouldn’t reduce fall dmg and the lava spreads fast in the nether so they would’ve just taken more dmg from the lava

He could've used the lava bucket to get a safe landing and take less dmg by picking it back up right away, right?

33:40 Opening the chest is what aggroed the piglin. I would've expected speedrunners to know that but maybe it doesn't come up that often in runs.

He knows that, that's why he was throwing gold out of his inventory before taking his time to check out the chest. Unfortunately it didn't work, as he points out directly after running away, because of a change in UI mechanics.

it comes up in runs all the time, he meant to throw gold to distract the piglin, but the current version is dumb and doesnt allow you to throw by dragging out of your invintory

He knew that, but you can see him try to throw the gold to distract the pig first but it does not throw because the mechanic changed in some way

he tried to distract it with gold but because its 1.19 the gold didnt drop when he dragged it out which he also explained

generally (from my knowledge) bastions arent *too* popular for runs (as in theyre usually meant as a last ditch effort to save a run), and usually runners will block off piglins in a seperate area for trading if they have to. its been a while since ive been super involved in minecraft speedruns but i *think* thats why

Thought commentary could have spent a little time explaining what he's doing and why. I watched it and had no idea why he was doing a lot of things, and the people who were supposed to explaining just such things did very little of it.
