In today's Minecraft 1.15 Vanilla Tutorial, We are building an Oak Survival Starter house! I wanted to take on the challenge of only using super basic materials for a house and this is what I came up with!

Fwhip I thought the polished dorite was an interesting addition. would you do a build using this and other "ugly" blocks like granite and the end pur pur blocks as examples on how to use them properly in a build. Bdouble00 made a castle using dorite on the hermitcraft server and it looked awesome and I know you can do something to using these "ugly" blocks also. Thanks and great video

Thank you for this tutorial! It's such a cute little house, and I really enjoyed building it in my world. The only thing I couldn't do was add the fence gates to it, but that is probably because it won't work in Pocket Edition. But I really love how my little house turned out, and I hope you will do more of these starter house tutorials in the future.

For a challenge build: use a lot of end blocks in a build that looks good. Vanilla textures, no cheating ;)

For these types of starter houses I think it's Ok to bring in Birch as another main material, since *most* of the time when you find Oak, there'll be Birch nearby, since normal Forests almost always spawn next to Plains biomes, and if not, Birch Forests aren't that rare either. Except, of course, if you're doing a Survival Island challenge or just randomly spawn on an island with only Oak... Anyway, the point is, *I* would make the floors on the inside Birch Planks, I have a new-found love for it with all the new and updated textures! ;D))

It feels kinda unfair that the tutorial is made in creative, some parts are hard to follow if you are not an experienced builder. But the house looks beautiful anyway, thank you for this vid ;)
