Tf is that ram bruh. Dedicating that much ram to minecraft lowers fps a lot. If you're just playing complete vanilla with performance mods,resource packs,datapacks,shaders then 2 gb ram or at max 2.3-2.5 gb ram dedicated is enough Small modpacks would be 2.5-3 gb ram and medium to large modpacks should be 3-6 gb ram dedicated. Any more and most of the time its overkill. Only massive modpacks like Dawncraft or Roguelike dungeons and adventures would need 14 gigs of ram. Also I am saying this cause when minecraft has a lot more ram dedicated to it then it needs it ends up consuming it all and starts memory leaking resulting in lag spikes and shit. This aint as visible on Vanilla but in modpacks if you dedicated 12 gigs of ram but the modpack only need 4 gigs of ram your fps will crash and you'll get lag spikes everywhere cause of the memory leaking.

So If I have 32Gb ram in my pc and give 10Gb ram to minecraft will it still cause problems?

@@mahin8441 Depends on what mod loader you're using and what performance mods and how many mods. Run 100-200 mods that only needs 3 gb ram, but instead put 10 gigs of ram and you'll start to see the memory leaking. Especially with forge. If you're using fabric its less common but will still happen eventually. Lowering ram makes minecraft use less ram. More ram you dedicate the more minecraft tries to use it up and cause memory leaks which results in lag spikes every few seconds. You dont seem to have any other mod right now other then performance mods and Iris or oculus for shaders Im assuming, so it isnt affecting as much. Just dedicate how much ram you need for max performance. Vanilla=2 gb ram(Default) Fabric/Forge with performance mods & shaders only=2-2.5gb ram(at max 2.5 but 2 is enough) Fabric/Forge with 100-200 mods=3-4 gb ram Fabric/Forge with 300-350+ mods(massive mods)=6-8 gb ram. At one point it just starts getting extremely stupid. Above this it starts just getting over the top. If you're playing a massive modpack like BMC4 or Dawncraft etc then dedicate as much ram as the modpack devs suggest. (Example Dawncraft recommends 12-14 gigs of ram) You should also test around with ram dedication. Like i used to get a shit ton of lag spikes and the game was unplayable when i had 150 mods on forge and dedicated 6 gigs of ram.(Back then i only had 8 gigs, i upgraded to 16 gigs now) When i lowered my ram to 4 gb dedicated every issue was fixed and my game was at stable 400-500 fps again. Nowadays i play at 50-150+ mods so i only dedicate 2.5-4 gigs of ram and never go above 4 gigs

@@dripmogus6979 @dripmogus6979 Yo man You just explained me so well. I have got 16gigs of ram and I have Don't usually use any shaders I do use sodium and fabric and 4 small mods. I Have been giving Minecraft 4gigs of ram, so I'm good right?

@@mahin8441 It wont be as noticeable until you add in more mods. I'd just recommend sticking with 2-3 gigs for most stability

am i reading something wrong?? 500 avg fps on 1660s and i5-10400f with shaders and i'm getting something around 80-120 with a 4060ti and 13400f what's the render distance?

@@369benchmarks No it should have been. Its weird the new chunk stutters aren't really noticeable, but the ones i've been in already stutter, and its really noticeable. Not sure whats up. Specs: i513400f, 32 gb 2x16 ddr5 6400mhz ram, rtx 4060, minecraft is installed on ssd.
